Eli Lilly calls UK ‘worst country in Europe’ for drug prices; gold nears record high - as it happened
Spot gold trading just below Monday’s fresh record high
I know what they meant. They mean it's too cheap due to regulations
I think most Americans that realize this are all feeling the same way.Pathetic how American pharma (i'm going to use different words/phrases that what I'm thinking here so I don't trigger people) "takes advantage of/steals from/gouges" the public for medication. And really, one can insert "insurance" or "healthcare" system" in place of "pharma". It's all about GREED vs actual health.
My bmi was 46.2 in May of this year. I have OSA as well. My insurance wouldn’t cover GLP’s. Crazy town.I think most Americans that realize this are all feeling the same way.
Here they do not want to cure you for a one time fee when they can treat you for a life time fee.
Drives me mad that everyone knows it and hates it, yet it never gets solved because we are at each other’s throats over culture war nonsense instead of focusing on the stuff that matters.I think most Americans that realize this are all feeling the same way.

All I'm going to say about that is this: The world has never become a better place when decisions are made based on hatred.Drives me mad that everyone knows it and hates it, yet it never gets solved because we are at each other’s throats over culture war nonsense instead of focusing on the stuff that matters.
The color of the tie you wear in the TV spot is much more important than a meaningful policy change in US!Drives me mad that everyone knows it and hates it, yet it never gets solved because we are at each other’s throats over culture war nonsense instead of focusing on the stuff that matters.
Good take. Going to keep fighting the good fight by blasting stuff I get where my money goes to "Molly" instead of Eli.The color of the tie you wear in the TV spot is much more important than a meaningful policy change in US!
Back to OP, I also like when I can sell a product for more money for a longer period of time without competition. That’s the US drug market. I don’t think pharma is awarded the same level of price setting in UK and that makes the market harder. More crazy town.
I think these long term health outcomes are one of the best arguments for single payer insurance. We know obesity drives up the costs of healthcare. We know that managing obesity will bring down total healthcare costs and long-term insurance payouts. But insurance companies don’t want to pay in the short term for something that benefits in the long term, because people change insurance plans when they change jobs. So they are logically opposed to paying now when it’s the next insurance company that benefits. My bmi was 46.2 in May of this year. I have OSA as well. My insurance wouldn’t cover GLP’s. Crazy town.
And honest to god, in the long term is medicare picking up the bill for the aging obese who were not able to get interventions to change their outcomes. CRAZY TOWN INDEED.I think these long term health outcomes are one of the best arguments for single payer insurance. We know obesity drives up the costs of healthcare. This is a case where more regulation will make the market more efficient. The efficiency of insurance, in particular, benefits when the pool of customers is as large as possible.
