Good morning everyone. I'm sure this has been discussed before but couldn't find a thread when I searched. I took my 2nd dose of 2.5mg Tirz this past Friday and I'm just not feeling anything. I googled it and answers range from "it's normal" to "I felt it right away". So I'm curious to hear from this group on when you first knew the Tirz was working? I had previously taken Ozembic and a few days after the first dose could tell something was different as far as desire to eat and reduced portions at meals. I'm just not getting that from Tirz so far. Should I just be patient, or increase dose, or ...? Probably overthinking it but thought I'd check in with you fine folks.

I was advised to start at 5mg before I knew any better. I felt it within the hour. Hunger gone. Food noise gone. Weight loss on day 2 through 5 was like 10lbs.
I wont tell you to titrate early. That's your call. But don't lose hope. You'll get there.

I think it is a little different for everyone. Within the first few days of taking Tirz, I knew something was different. I started at 1.5 mg. There is a possibility that some of that was the placebo effect. For the last several years my only desire was to not think about food the way I did. So the second I took something that was supposed to curb that obsession, I may have experienced a bit of placebo. It is definitely still working for me 3 months later, but that early feeling may have been more mind than chemical.

How recently were you on Ozempic and at what dose? If you’re transitioning from Sema (Oz) to Tirz, you likely need a higher dose.

When I first started, I felt the appetite reduction and lack of food noise within a few hours.

I also took my second dose on Sunday but I started really low at 0.5 mg due to being sensitive to medications. I was also worried (am still worried) that its not working (or won't work). But at my low dose, I am not expecting much until I titrate up higher. I am noticing the food noise is less. And also, I am not having my mid-day slump of extreme fatigue. So something must be happening!

It's been months. I was on Ozembic this past June & July(ended on 1MG) until my insurance decided the formulary and requirements for coverage changed(fun stuff). I was so excited to find this forum and the resources and information here. I had almost given up hope on being able to use GLPs. It's entirely possible that my expectations were too high and I'm overthinking it(lol) but it never hurts to have a conversation and get perspective from others.

Just noticed your name. Another YoYo. Ha.

OzemPic (not OzemBic) is semaglutide. It’s not equal to Tirz, their mechanisms of action are a big different. I’d still give the 2.5 mg some time, as “feelz” isn’t a great indicator of whether it’s working. If after a couple more weeks you’ve seen no loss, increase. But note there’s no need to increase based on manufacturer standards, you can go up in smaller increments, like .5 or 1.0, no need to jump up to 5.0.

Probably this is because you've been on Ozempic. What dose of Ozempic you got last? I moved from Mounjaro 5 mg per week to Reta 2 mg per week, - 6 weeks ago feel nothing 2 weeks, after that start to pin once in a 5 days then start to feel it and loose 2 pounds. Just be careful don't rush.

Haha, yeah. YoYo Gang. Also, thanks for the correction. I'm wondering how my brain never caught that even after staring at the name on the pens for a few months..lol.

I appreciate your feedback.
