Still only doctors and pharmacists, and in some cases veterinarians, may legally dispense the needles and syringes even though no prescription is required. The stated purpose of the law is prevent the spread of diseases.

When was the last time they prosecuted someone in California for having syringes? 😂 They hand out syringes to junkies on the street to keep them there because non-profits get about $900,000 per homeless junkie. Maybe he has nothing to do with previous restrictions cuz I would expect he'd hand out free syringes, alcohol wipes, sleeping bags, shit buckets and a large pizza to every addict. I used to represent folks in court charged with possessing syringes in California. The last time I did so was about 15 years ago. However, I have been handling more serious cases since then.

I'm all for people being obtain syringes without a prescription. On one hand, there are the people like me and you who use them for GLP-1 drugs. However, on the other, the drug addicts need clean syringes. You're going to have a hard time stopping addicts from injecting themselves. To stop the spread of disease, I want needles and syringes available to them.
