Newbie here, just trying to work out, if I get a 30ml of BAC water but I'm on reconstituting once a month, does this 30ml need to be thrown out after 1 month as it's been punctured by a syringe (and I know it's only safe for 4 weeks or so)? Or can you use it multiple times? Just trying to work out the benefit of order 30ml vs 10ml or less. Any advice?

Lots of different opinions on this. I would say the safest practice is to only order Pfizer Hospira Bac water which only comes in 30mL. That being said, I don't know how difficult it is to get that in the UK. The other safest practice would be to only use that Bac water for a month after piercing it for the first time. Should go in the fridge and technically only be used during that time period. BUT there's a lot of people out there that push past this as long as the Bac water looks clear and is obviously not tainted in any way. For me it's super cheap and easy to get in the US so I don't care about chucking it after a month. I know others though that keep it very clean and will use it for 2-3 months after the first puncture. Can't remember what it is off the top of my head but if you search around the forum I think there's a device you can use with the bac water vial to make it reusable for longer periods of time.

Realizing I'm dumb and wrote a lot without answering your specific question, yes you can use it multiple times within the window. Just make sure you're wiping it down with an alcohol wipe before and after use and trying to keep a sterile environment while reconstituting/filtering.

I think I'm just wondering, as I'll be transferring to a pen which will last a month, whether I need to order new bac water every time I do a new vial. It sounds like that's the case, as the 30ml is only good for a month (or 2-3 months if you're risking it). Hmmm. Good to know thanks Soapy!

I'd go 3 months easy personally.
Agreed. Hospira is erring WAY on the side of caution, and increasing revenue at the same time. I'm using a vial every 2 mo's (several people using this vial), but I'd have no problem going even longer.

Just do what you're comfortable with.

(Use good sterile practices, Your Mileage May Vary, Terms and Conditions Apply, etc)

I ended up ordering 3ml w my r10 kit. So, 10 bottles R10, 10 3ml of bac. My dosage will be low starting at .5 slowing moving up so my first r10 will last at least 6 weeks. as mentioned the bac is cheap.

Exactly. No different than the stuff in your fridge. Ketchup and stuff will go way past "Use by Date", along with a bunch of other stuff.

I chuck mine after 3mo. Probably still good but it's cheap.
