I did a search through the forums and couldn't find anything relevant so thought I'd ask here.

BAC water / options in Sweden (and presumably the rest of the nordics, could be wrong) seem to be scarce. In fact the only thing I can find when doing a search for BAC water that's readily available here in Sweden is something that pops up on Amazon, and I don't trust Amazon for anything medical/supplements related.

So what are fellow Swedes and others in the Nordics doing for BAC water? Have I missed something and there's a reliable source or are people DIY'ing it or what?

What would the shelf life be if mixing like this in empty sterile vials?
If you practice good aseptic/sterile technique (clean work surface etc, etc.) then a freshly brewed vial will last for a couple of years.

Once you start poking one with needles (aka using them) try to keep it between 28 days (USP req.) and 56 days (just my opinion). Keep an eye open for it becoming cloudy and/or when things start floating in the vial; that's a sign you should ditch it.

There's a Swedish brand that sells this on AZ. It might be easier for you to check if they're a reliable company. https://amzn.eu/d/0g4iTNtY
I've used those.
The brand is a reseller. The labels where very unprofessional (half cut off) and the CoA was questionable. (I think I've posted it on this forum somewhere).
For the price they are asking it is a hard NO imho.

Actually, avoid Amazon altogether is my advice. I have some proof of other bad BAC purchased from there.

It's the reason I started making my own.

€1/ml 🤮

This is my Benzyl:

As for the sterile water look for "Braun Aqua Pro Inj." or "Aqua Sterop" in 50ml. Just make sure you don't get the saline (NaCl) version. These are priced between €2.20 and €3.25 per 50ml vial without shipping.

For under €4 you have 50ml of BAC. If it's not finished after 2 months, toss it. Hell, at that price toss it after a month if you like.

Procedure: Per 50ml vial, ad 0.5ml benzyl and you are good to go.

When in the Nordics I get them forwarded from the UK. Was considering making it myself, but I am not too confident about the quality of sterile water. Will definitely try though, after seeing others do it

I prepare a 10% BA stock solution in sterile water. So I add 1 ml of the stock solution to 10 ml of sterile water to achieve a concentration of 0.91% v/v. I can make this using standard sterile water ampules. Less waste.
In a lab, this is usually done the other way around, meaning adding solvent to reach a total volume; it’s more precise but really not necessary for our peptides. We just need to stay between 0.8% and 1.5%. Anyway, I don’t have the equipment to do better.

Didn't you mean 0.1ml to 10ml (or 1ml to 100ml)?

I thougt about the 10ml plastic "flapule" but it seemed more of a hassle. More work, tinier dosage of the Benzyl, extra vials, syringes etc..

Now for me it's 1 big 50ml vial, one 0.5ml syringe, an alcohol swab and I'm done for more than a month.
If I could get the sterile water in 30ml glass vials, that would be even nicer because less waste.

Preparing a 10% Benzyl Alcohol Stock Solution

1. remove 1ml of sterile water from a 10ml vial (plastic ones from Aqua are fine)
2. add 1ml of USP BA 99.95% to the 9ml of water
Result: 10 ml of 10% stock BA (to put in a 10ml sterile vial)

Preparing a solution @ ~ 0.9% Benzyl Alcohol

1. add 1ml of stock BA 10% to a sterile vial
2. add 10ml of water to the vial
Result: BA concentration ~ 0.91% (1/11)
If there isn't enough room in the vial for 11 ml, add as much water as possible without reaching the septum. You'll end up with a concentration somewhere between 0.91% and 1% (from what I've read, it doesn't sting at this concentration yet).

Make sure to label your vials.
