My kid always gets me sick, it would be great to be able to help knock it out with a cold stack attack. Any recommendations?

I'll search for peptides commonly used for cold and immune support.
For cold and immune support, the top candidates are:

Thymosin Alpha 1 — most studied for immune function, with 30+ clinical trials showing it enhances immune response and may reduce infection severity. Often used during acute illness.

LL-37 — antimicrobial peptide with direct antiviral and antibacterial activity. Supports your body's natural defense against respiratory pathogens.

Glutathione — master antioxidant that reduces inflammation and supports immune cell function. Often used alongside other immune peptides.

VIP — anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory. Helps regulate immune response and reduce excessive inflammation during infection.

Thymosin Alpha 1 is the most established for acute cold support. LL-37 offers direct antimicrobial action. Which appeals to you, or do you want details on dosing/protocols for any of these?

I'd definitely appreciate any further info on TA1 and LL-37. I'm going to find a vendor that stocks them right now.

Goodkitty on Pepys has a blend of thy ta1 and epitalon they use for prevention and shortened duration. It has worked well for me

Been on 5mg weekly of TA1 since Nov of 25 except for maybe 4-5 weeks because of surgery. First winter, I haven't had a sniffle. I do take a fair amount of supplements as well, but my main goal is to hopefully raise my white blood cell count and I plan to stay on it another month. It is a prescribed drug in 30 other countries under Thymalfasin/Zadaxin, very limited in the USA: https://www.rxlist.com/zadaxin-drug.htm#description

I used TA-1 and KPV. I looked at LL-37, but it's angiogenic.

Sorry! That was just the end of the Pep-pedia info asking me if I wanted more info. Didn't mean to copy and paste that part. But here is what it said.

For treating a cold, Thymosin Alpha 1 works by enhancing T-cell maturation, stimulating NK cells, and modulating cytokine production — essentially priming your immune system to fight infection more effectively. For acute cold support, you have two options:

Injectable (most studied): 1.6mg subcutaneous, 2x daily for 5 days, then daily. This is the route with extensive clinical data. You'd draw the full 1.6mg per dose using an insulin syringe. Timeline: immune activation starts week 1-2, peak benefits by week 6-12.

Nasal spray (non-invasive): 1000mcg per nostril, 3x daily during acute phase. Requires compounding pharmacy preparation. Less clinical data than injectable but avoids needles.

Safety is excellent — less than 1% serious adverse events across 11,000+ patients. Most common side effect is mild injection site reactions. Key caution: don't use if you've had an organ transplant (risk of graft rejection).

thank you all, I just ordered so TA-1 in a group buy. It would be amazing if it really works.

Same, exactly. I've been using TA-1 and KPV for almost 2 months now and have moved to an alternating cycle (KPV one day, TA-1 the next) to keep them in my system, but to also not use them up so fast (I only have 2 kits of each right now). I'm avoiding anything well known to be angiogenic since I want any peps I use to be on the high benefit/low risk end of the spectrum. Aside from tirz, everything else is really for the "let's see what this can do for me" hell of it, and thankfully not for any actual medical issue that needs addressing.

not a peptide, but if you don't have venous issues: i've begun taking pine bark extract when i'll be in settings full of bacteria/viruses or when i'm feeling run down, and haven't had a cold ever since.

Jeez, man. You don't need to inject Chinese chemicals for the sniffles. Drink water, get rest, eat vitamins.

Yeah. Yeah youre right homie.

I never got sick until I had a kid. Called in sick twice in my life; once I got run over by a car, was in a half body cast and showed up to work the next day. 2nd I got chicken pox as an adult, lost 30 lbs in ten days, nearly died. But with a kid, I'm sick every month or two with the most brutal cold you just can't even imagine. We had t implement strict hygiene rules, just to have a chance at not getting sick 365 days year. If there's a shot I can take that will either prevent this or resolve it faster than the normal course, sign me the eff up.

ill still shill for pine bark, and also lots of raw crushed garlic in food. that's my only non-peptide non-natto recent addition to the diet and things have been disease free for the last couple years

You can find plenty of LL-37 studies posted on Peppy’s: some good, some terrifying, and many weakly reported, with unclear methodology, missing dosing context, or poor study design. Google Scholar has more, but you’ll have to dig and read to find balance.

Anecdotally, I recently used LL-37 as part of an illness-prevention stack after being exposed to someone who was clearly sick. I ran 200 mcg daily for 10 days. It was not a miracle shield; I still felt mildly “off” for a couple of days, but I never fully got sick.

The unexpected effect was that my rosacea nearly disappeared by the end of the course. It gave me everything I wanted, but never got, from GHK. I later experimented with using it topically in a tallow balm as well, despite seeing one study claiming LL-37 can contribute to irreversible rosacea-like lesions. That particular study looked poorly constructed to me, so I did not give it much weight on its own.

I would not recommend anyone use LL-37 without first reading several studies and understanding the proposed risks, because the theoretical downsides are not trivial. But personally, I’ll continue to keep it on hand as one tool in a broader prevention stack, alongside mAbs and other more established options.
