What method of birth control do you use? My doctor can't help me with the pill. She recommends condoms if I increase my dose of Tirz for four weeks.

I have an IUD. Oral contraception can be affected or have reduced efficacy due to the slower digestion.

Will they discuss non oral methods that are suitable for you? I can think of vaginal rings, the shot (not a long term solution if I recall), IUD, nexplanon. Condoms (male or female) are an option too.

Over time, the slowness of digestion tends to go away, so if you've been on the same dosage for a while, the chances oral will still keep you covered are pretty good. You lose that tolerance if you change your dosage or stop and start again. (Not that I don't also recommend a method that doesn't have that risk..just saying that it does minimize over time).

I'm going through menopause right now. That's why I'm worried about what would be best for me right now. I'm also thinking about the vaginal ring

I have an IUD and literally never once was told that this would have any effect on that.
