I sometimes get elevated hematocrit and rbc levels showing up on tests, regardless of if I am on TRT, or not.
So, my latest tests, this showed up again. I was a little surprised by this. I am not on TRT now, and reviewing past results, it seems to not matter at all. It's nothing we are really concerned about because all of my other CBC markers are in near perfect range, platelets, wbc, everything. Just like always. We went down the full rabbit hole on this before with every test that can be done, along with scans and everything came back normal.
So my Dr. calls me up this morning and asks me if I have reviewed my results. I said 'what do you think?'. He knows I have already been over all this. So we go back to the usual topic, want to do a blood letting, sleep apnea, blah blah blah. I have been diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, but have to point out that this only happens when I am fat. So here I am still 32 lbs overweight. I've already lost 28, so great, but...
So then my Dr hits me with something totally unexpected. What about the BPC-157? And I'm like 'what, you mean the angiogenesis? How is that related? So then he says 'angiogenesis can cause erythrocytosis'. And I'm like WTF? Only I didn't say anything and after pondering this, I said 'Send me a link to the data on this'. So, he ways 'well, there is no data but'... 🤣 Oh boy, here we go.
So I said, fine I'll give the BPC-157 a one month break now, do a blood draw and we can test again.
Anyone ever heard anything like that before? I have to think he totally pulled that one out of his hat, but who knows.
