Can we talk about Group Buys here?

I know we have newbies with no source discussions and all that, and there is the group testing area.....

While i was unable to post here for that little bit due.... things, had some extra time and took a real good look at the peptide ( lol and other things ) offerings on Telegram/Discord. I discovered thatt there is a big world of vendors out there that arent on this forum, and lots that are.

One of the really cool things in this extended peptide community are the group buys, which are all over the place, with interesting people and peps changing hands on a lot smaller scale than ive seen here.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on group buys? Are we allowed to talk about them here, like pricing and where to find them, or how to get invites? Or nah?

Luckily for all us, but mostly me, the mods are so interested in hearing what i have to say that i get the privilege just about none of you sad fuckers have and they read my shit before it goes live!!!

Basically, no.

Because most "group buys" aren't.

They're just vendor promotions called a "group buy" to make people think they're getting some kind of magical deal, or a vendor that doesn't have the money or resources to finance their own inventory so they play this "group buy" game to get everyone else to help fund their business venture.

Also because it goes against one of the core concepts of the forum not being a place that encourages people to send money to fellow randos they just met on the internet promising them a great deal. It's hard enough to get people to think critically and proceed with caution when dealing with the Chinese, getting them to understand that JoeSixPack423443 organizing a $20/kit R60 group buy is probably not legit only makes it more difficult.

I also have the misfortune of being familiar with a number of the early and current "group buy" operators, and (with rare exception) most of them are not trustworthy enough or are somehow defective humans in some way that promoting or encouraging people to get involved with them would be a disservice to the community. I don't know what the actual success rate in terms of upholding guarantees and testing is, but if it's barely over 50% I would be surprised.

I've been getting a bunch of messages about some new woman on the scene trying to organize a BAC water "group buy" at some insanely good price (deep "too good to be true" territory), participants being charged "sales tax" for a state they don't live in (and when paying with crypto), the terms and timeline of the "buy" changing daily with no recourse for the people who've already paid in, all along with fraudulently using the name of a legit pharmacy. This just further illustrates the problem with the "group buy" concept in the peptide space that there are too many people eager to throw money at a "good deal" that really isn't.

While I know that there are some "group buys" that have been legitimate and above-board (and I've been part of probably 50 various non-peptide group buys in my life), the vast majority are just vendor promos, and just like not endorsing any particular vendor or allowing vendor grading or lists, it's best if the forum stays out of the business of policing "group buys" as well.

Great justification and explanation by Zip. Sure, the GB opportunity to get a great price is tempting but the backstopping of quality/purity is truly the main driver why GBs have interested me. Essentially, two people in the GB volunteer one vial that goes off to Jano for testing and everyone waits for the COA to be posted. Back when supply was abundant and shipping was free-flow, I personally observed great customer service and consequences for those who were slow, rude, expensive and poor QC. Now things have tightened and that makes me worried (possibly suspicious) that the QC may be compromised.

Same. Im not interested in the Group Buy because the discount that’s secondary. I more interested in the group being invested in the same product where we can all contribute towards testing which I believe is where the value is at.

A scammer is a scammer is a scammer, and there are already too many out there to keep track of.

Even if not a scammer, constantly altering the deals of a "group buy" is far too common and just another warning sign to stay away.

Yea i get that, and thats one of my favorite things about the idea of group buys as well. I just recently talked with BFF and they said no third party, but we do extensive internal testing... So... they are policing themselves? I dont buy that.

There's a whole spreadsheet that has his stuff on it that gets updated. You can usually find them on STG. I just ordered 4 more R30 yesterday from him. All have had good COA's so far.

Pharmacies are the modern day apothecaries, but with much better standardization, reliability, and outcomes compared to the individual sourcing and compounding of historic apothecaries.


Hopefully that's not too cryptic. If it's a modern problem, I have a schmedium vested with a couple orders, one being BAC. The BAC price was "only" $20 cheaper than another case price that delivered that was overstock from another buy (presumptively sold at a bit of a premium).

You've gotta place an order to be in line, you pay when you place the order. If you wait for it to be in stock, you've gotta get that timing right.

If it allows a backorder with Bff, that's what I'd do.

I'm pretty sure when I opened my Wise accounts I was able to use them instantly for comparatively large currency exchange and transfer... considerably cheaper than local banks could offer.

You can send your crypto to binance and then send it back in the form you want with a minimal exchange charge. I had to do that when I bought from Binh.

Yes but the charge is super high. If you set up a binance account you send from your wallet to there as whatever currency you have, then send back to your wallet with whatever currency you need. Super cheap.

Im such an idiot, making things so much more difficult that they need to be. I'm just going to buy more crypto via exodus for BFF! I've only bought usdc sol so far and have been building that up, but there's no reason I can't buy a different crypto, its only money!!! Geez im going for it!!!
