Crypto for dummies?

Hi all. I've read this entire thread and am understanding the value of getting started with crypto which I am trying to do but am now getting frustrated and falling down the rabbit hole after reading above about getting on peppys(?) and PGB (?).......and using the magnifying glass for "peppys" and needing an invite but then the email doesn't work and ....and ......and.....LOL...........and I can't bring myself to search for PGB as I am already 30 minutes down the rabbit hole at work and still have no idea about crypto other than now I am thoroughly trippin'. LOL
Help? Advice? Joke's on me? lol.............there's apparently a pdf somewhere...................lol

@brentm Sending from the exchange is the easiest way to lose your account. It's like a speed run. The fact that you haven't been shut down yet is probably just good luck.

I have created a guide on how to buy USDT on Solana, using Exodus wallet and PayPal, for next to no fees. It's a step by step guide with pictures and lots and lots of people have used it and saved themselves a whole lot of money while keeping it as safe as possible with a self-custodial wallet.

I can't upload it here because the PDF is too large, so if you see this and want to take a look, message me on Discord. Otherwise, it's posted on Peppys in the crypto section.
Hiya! I’m desperately looking for this on peppys but I can’t find it? All I can see is someone selling a course to learn how to do it.
Is there anyway you can send it to me or can you send me a link to the post on peppys?

I’m trying really hard to understand… but I’m just stupid.

When dealing with crypto, I often feel stupid too. I get very annoyed by the people who act like using it is easy.

As to your specific request, https://chat.peppys.org/uploads/short-url/kx0ckDVpIEXWH0NwGe2dBXzxJqJ.pdf The link will only work if you have a Peppys login. Otherwise, you have to get @peptideusername to send it to you.

x100!

Makes it easy for sure. I’ve not had too much heartache with the time saved by having to spend $7 in fees to buy and sell $400 in BTC. Straight from my linked payment source to my Exodus wallet. Thank our banking lobby for the “hurdles” you have to do with face and ID scans. I promise Exodus doesn’t want to have to keep up with all that…

I'm not a big fan of crypto since I always seem to spend much time figuring out how to make payments, always worry that I'll send something in a way that will disappear, and also worry that the merchant can take my crypto and then not send the product. I did have QSC disappear after I sent a crypto payment.

Still I have to agree that using crypto is better than the alternatives. That's why I pay for grey (GLP-1 drugs and Indian pharmaceuticals) using crypto.

Just wanted to celebrate somewhere but I finally successfully set up coinbase, purchased usdc and Eth, set up exodus, and transferred both into the exodus wallet. Only small amounts (like $20 Eth and $60 usdc) in case I fucked up, but now they can sit in my wallet until I'm ready to add more usdc and place an order as I now feel I understand enough to give it a go, so I'm not reliant on PayPal!

I never thought I'd wrap my head around crypto but I'm getting there!

Stick with USDC or USDT (stable) as your currency and you won't have to worry about taxes (gains/loses). Avoid Coinbase's proprietary "Base" network (no vendor accepts base network) by using Eth or Sol and you're good to go!

Thanks for the advice. Someone else had said to avoid Base network too so I did and stuck to the etherium network. I only bought some ETH as it's needed for transactions on exodus so I thought I'd pop a small amount in to cover fees etc.

I find that some vendors require Sol for gas and others require Eth. I do keep a small amount of Sol and Eth in Exodus for the purpose of sending stuff. If caught by the IRS, I hope they go lenient on me because (1) they realize what a nightmare it is to calculate the value of cryptocurrency valuations and (2) they'd realize that I was not using crypto as means of making money and had kept the values small.

My ex-wife recently complained to me that I must have done something wrong on the taxes because she was being audited by the feds and the state. Apparently, I hadn't done anything wrong, but she ended up having to pay both based upon her conduct with her more recent tax returns. It would have never occurred to her that she may have been the person to err.
