Hey everyone, glad to be here. I joined because I’ve been trying to better understand the connection between weight, inflammation, detox, mood, and overall wellbeing.

Over the past couple of years I’ve dealt with a lot of health-related struggles after mold/mycotoxin exposure, including fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, sleep issues, inflammation, and difficulty feeling “normal” again. One thing I keep noticing is how interconnected everything seems to be — metabolism, detox pathways, weight gain/loss, mental clarity, energy levels, even emotional balance.

I’m very interested in hearing real experiences from people here, especially regarding:

detox and inflammation
GLP-1s and overall wellbeing beyond weight loss
mood and mental clarity improvements
energy levels and motivation
appetite regulation and inflammation
feeling healthier overall, not just lighter on the scale

I’m here mainly to learn, exchange experiences, and hopefully connect with people who are going through similar journeys. Looking forward to hearing your stories and insights.

For brain fog: the aGLP-1s I’ve used (Lira, Tirz, and Reta) definitely have a nootropic effect. I have the cognitive acuity I had when I was 20. I completed more projects last year than in the previous five years combined, and my partners are struggling to keep up with me.

Stabilizing diabetes. This is often forgotten, but it is the primary goal of GLP-1 agonists.

The SS-31 and MOTS-c combination eliminates fatigue. I added some 5AMQ this morning, and it's really good dope.

KPV (alone, not in Klow) visibly reduces skin inflammation.

With GLP-1s there are anecdotes that mood is improved and ADHD type symptoms are improved. There are anecdotes for flattening or Adhedonia. I have learned that my dopamine is fragile. Sema brought SI after two weeks and tirz brought lack of task initiation after about a month. Microdose of both, half or less starting dose.

You are asking the right questions about inflammation, mood, and chronic conditions. Sleep issues can contribute to all of the above. And HPA axis has fascinating studies going on connecting gut health with mental health.

Go after big wins first, vitamin levels, balanced eating, stress management, moving regularly. A person can’t “cancel” poor diet with peptides or supplements. If the body is lacking nutrients to repair itself the person is going to feel like crud.

Blood levels need to be weighed more than just “lab normal”. There is optimal as well. Example: most people feel best at top 1/4-1/3 end of range for vitamin D. Many of us are far from there, I had never tested mine until 47 and I was low. Getting my D up uncovered other health problems the deficiency had been masking…. So this “first” step of getting the big things taken care of can be like untying a knot.

Retatrutide has done something to my basal metabolism that ozempic or tirzepatide couldn't solve. I am losing weight like a healthy normal person as I used to 10 years ago. I will probably use it for life unless my genetic tests in July finds something.

bro welcome, your post actually hits close to home because i dealt with black mold exposure myself for like 4 years, it was literally on the ceiling dripping while i was sleeping. felt exactly everything you described. the fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, inflammation, just not feeling normal
honestly just getting out of that environment was the biggest thing. after i relocated i slowly started feeling like myself again over time
now im on reta been like 2 weeks started at 217 and already at 198 and honestly the craziest part isnt even the weight its just feeling more like myself again. the food noise being gone has helped my mental clarity way more than i expected
also been stacking some peptides like ghk-cu and bpc for inflammation and recovery and just heard about glutathione from someone here and what people are saying about it for detox and inflammation sounds crazy might be worth looking into for your mold situation specifically

Reta seemed to truly do nothing for me! I was stacking with Tirz. I still have plenty left and took a break, so now I am considering starting over with just Reta. What dose were you doing if you don't mind me asking or what was your titration?

I am taking a serious look at KPV. I have hashimoto, SpA, and PoTS. Ive been on tirzepatide since Nov 25. Enbrel, IMO does the heavy lifting. I feel like tirz hasnt done much for SpA but im currently at 51lbs weight loss and that is a success.

I havent seen anyone talk about it but I think Tirz is helping with PoTS. My resting heart rate also went from 74 to 62 since April. My spikes when standing have come down from like 130 to in the 90s. Heat has its own problems with PoTS and I did spike to 138 today but didnt get the shaky, collapse feeling. I was just outside putting new nesting pads in the chicken nest boxes.

Why not start your own thread? Your question is very different from the OP's in that old thread.

I dont see it as different. I did list something I thought was a benefit outside of weight loss along with what I have not experienced from a glp.

Should probably be taking magnesium, CoQ10, and LCarnitine among others...

As for OP... I can't see reta helping with any of that. Will most likely worsen sleep, fatigue, and brain fog. Certainly shouldn't be taken if you have POTS either since it raises RHR. Good that tirz helped with yours though!

Sadly they don't make a peptide for everything. I've found that getting my methylation cycle pumping and doing more research on B vitamins has dramatically improved my daytime energy... Along with cardio which is neccessary to maintain any kind of health. Good luck out there.

Ive been taking mag glycinate for every day I can remember to take supps, its most days. I also put in omega 3 concentrated. I was kind of scared of L carnitine because of the hashimoto. But willing to try it.

As far as Ive read the GLP is supposed to make PoTS worse but I know my resting heart rate is lower because of less spikes, or think it is how they calculate. I havent thought about CoQ10 but I can pick it up. I know I still have a lot of inflammation.

Excuse any typos I missed, I type in the dark.

Definitely try out the CoQ10! I'm not sure about L-Carnitine with Hashimotos. Google is telling me less than 2g per day has been studied in hypothyroid patients and was useful in alleviating fatigue.

Not sure what your budget is, but this is the most bio-available form for getting into the heart. It fell out of fashion for some reason and this is one of only two brands that still sell it. Otherwise go with tartarate if cost is an issue.

I would prioritize it over the thyroid honestly, as L-Carnitine and CoQ10 are hugely beneficial for heart health.

For coq10, try the ubiquinol by nutricost.

I'm very sympathetic to your cause. I too have been taking magnesium daily for as long as I can remember. And of course Omega 3. If I stop for just three weeks I get heart palpitations. I used to be a hardcore stimulant abuser and I experienced something similar to POTS for a week one time after coming off of meth, so cardiovascular health is a hobby of mine.

As far as what you've read about GLPs, they were probably talking about retatrutide. This stuff is all very wild west and cutting edge, so there are a lot of healthcare providers and personality cults alike eagerly spouting secondhand information. I trust a random forum user over them any day of the week.

Congrats on getting clean!

Ill hit up Nutricost the next time they are running the 40% sale. Should be one very soon with the 4th coming. The carnitine Ill grab that now, Ive saved a crap ton of money since being on a GLP in food alone. Yea the PoTS is weird and it runs hand in hand with hashi. And TBH I have had PoTS since my 20s, I just never saw a doctor and figured it was a real problem after getting a fitbit. In my 20s Id almost pass out in the shower every morning, almost. But after a bit Id be okay and just head to work. Now Im old and well... thats self explaining.
