I see lots of posts referring to DEXA scans. I would like to know my body fat, muscle, and bone density percentages. Where are y'all getting them and how much do they cost?

I haven’t gotten one because there’s not a location within 2 hours of me, but I’ve seen a lot of people say they’re paying around $200-ish. I’ve seen as low as $100 and as high as $400 cited. I just did a map search for “dexa scans near me,” but the Dexa site also has a Dexa scan location finder.

If your gym has InBody scales, it's a very good alternative. Not as thorough but my InBody BMI and fat percent was identical to my Dexa and those are the main metrics for me.

Just had one today; cost me $39 dollars, and provided a lot of great information. The difference in body fat between the impedance scale and the Dexa was huge. I'm in USA (bay area)

I get the same warning from the Google link. IDK🤔🤷‍♂️

In my area the few places I kind find are just silly expensive. Would love to get a scan but it's either a dexa scan or a years worth of tirz added to my stash. Or an order from India.

I get them at no cost from my doctor's office. They're a "direct primary primary" care doctor where we pay a monthly membership fee and DEXA scans are included in the monthly fee. We also get prescriptions at wholesale cost and basically 24/7 access to our physician via email/text. I highly recommend into searching these out.

What kind of decisions do folks make based on dexa scan results? Are people adjusting dosing or calorie intake or something differently if the scan comes out one way or another? Or is it mainly just used for tracking?
