Did you titrate quickly or slowly?

I’ve been reading through research papers that suggest around 12mg is the optimal therapeutic dose, but I’ve also seen a lot of personal stories, where RS start low and slow (e.g., 1mg/week) and only increase when they stall. The idea seems to be that if you titrate too quickly and hit a plateau, you may leave yourself with nowhere to go dose-wise.

For those of you currently on this journey or who’ve already gone through it:
Did you titrate slowly or more aggressively?
Did you wait until you stalled before increasing your dose?
What titration strategy has actually worked for you long-term?

I’d love to hear what worked for you... thanks!

12mg is the max dose being used in trials. 6-8mg is where reta starts to really shine for most. 2-4-6-8-10-12 tirtating every 4 weeks is the most common guide for baseline but everyone is different and you need to listen to your body. I started at 2mg and it may have been too much to just jump into, but I did 2mg for 4 weeks and then went to 4mg, probably should have went 3mg as side effects each jump can be significant. I rode out 4mg for 7 weeks and have been at 5mg now for 4 weeks and I am going to do another 5mg this week and decide on going up after this week. It's not a race, going up too quickly can have more bad results then good, you may lose more going up, but your body will suffer. Losing too much weekly is worse than sticking out a dosage for a few weeks and losing a couple lbs .

I'm 15 weeks in and 70 lbs down without going overboard with dosing, don't rush, listen to your body and be healthy.

I started at 2.5 mg with reta and was coming off of triz. 7 mg. I felt little to no side effects and did that for an entire month then went up to 4mg, so far has been really good for me. Even tho I can eat more while on reta, I appreciate I get full faster and helps me build a healthier mindset when choosing what to snack on.

I have seen alot of people want to get the 'hunger' feeling gone when on glp'1s,2's,3's (lol) and so forth but thats just not healthy. We are not robots and need food for energy, Listen to your body and tirate slowly.. some progress is better than no progress and within time, we will lose those pounds little by little.

I WAS a little disappointed at how little to no food suppresion is there with this medication, however I have read so many positive reviews that people are calling reta the power house for weightloss and have been trusting the process. Im only 6 weeks in and lost 5 pounds but im okay with that! Take photos of your body, videos, anything that you can look back on and try not to focus too much on the number on the scale. The proof is in the photos. Good luck and enjoy the journey 🙂

I started higher than most at 2.5mg and did not experience any bad side effects. Now after 4 weeks I'm going to bump it up just a bit to 3.0mg.

Being you switched from 7mg tirz, you will not see a significant "feeling" of side effects until 6-8. I recently saw this chart on here and it may explain a bit of what is happening. The lower the number the more effective or higher the side effects associated with that marker.

Tirz is just under twice as strong in the GLP1 category which is what crushes your appetite, so the tell tale sign of not feeling like you can eat or "hunger crushing" is reduced significantly. You can also see Reta is more powerful in the GIP category which helps you feel fuller, and slows down your body's calling for food or "appetite"

Reta is a different mindset, especially when your coming from a different med like sema or tirz. People associate side effects of these glp1 medications as the signs of "it's working" because that's what's most commonly known. Reta has so many things that work behind the scene and considering it's not a med on the public platform, everyone is still on the mindset of what sema and tirz do is how reta should too.

I helped a friend move from max dose sema to reta after she stalled for 9 months and the sema made her feel bad all week. On 6mg reta she lost 7lbs in 3 weeks and didn't think it was working, she's feeling great and cannot believe the difference between the two

The point of the trial is to see how quickly they can ramp up and the side effects of doing so. If you are in the tolerant group, which is okay in size, you could probably start at 2mg and every 4 to 6 weeks, take another step up. It is not meant to be the prescribed dosing regiment.

The conservative, and mostly accepted, dosing protocols seem to be a low starting dosage (1 or 2 mg) with a stabilization period between the next step up. The stabilization period is usually given as 4 weeks or when you are unresponsive after counting calories and some basic physical exercise.

Know that there are people who are sensitive to the compound. If you are in the group that is sensitive, I cannot imagine what a 4mg starting dosage would do. Hell, the thought of 2 mgs is just within the bounds of my comprehension. My RS started at 1mg and the first two weeks were tolerable. At week 5, my RS moved up to 1.5 mgs and it was downright horrible. It made for a good story later, but it was terrible.

My RS is sensitive to Reta, so my RS is pretty much tracking at 1.5 mgs the weight loss line of those who were taking 12 mgs.
