Hey hey, I’m a woman looking to lose 25–30 kg. I’m in my third week on reta (current dose 1.0 mg) and I’m wondering whether obese people like me need higher doses to feel the appetite-suppressing effects? Or higher doses in general because of the amount of body mass?
It would be great if you could share your experiences and thoughts on this 🙏🏼

I weighed 285lbs when I started. Stayed at 1 mg for 8 weeks and lost almost 30 pounds. SO not for me. I think each person reacts differently. Reta is also not known for its appetite suppressing being as strong

I feel like this is super dependent from person to person. I have a family member that started at 0.5mg due to being scared of side effects and they felt the appetite suppression right away and lost 30 pounds on that dose no problem in 3 months. 5'5 F 5'2 SW240 CW205.

Myself on the other hand with Tirzepatide I had to get to 15mg to feel the "Tirz is tirzing" feeling people talk about. For instance, 5'10 M CW 230 down from 290.

I think a lot of it depends on how your body responds. I started taking reta in January and currently down 42 pounds. Started off on .5mg twice per week and currently on 6mg now. I honestly didnt notice a huge difference on it until around 5mg. 1mg is a very small dose so I wouldn't worry to much about it until you tirate up.

Your body gets the full build-up after 4 weeks. If you don't have negative side effects you can't manage, you can go up to 2mg/week.

Stick with that dose for 4 weeks and see how it goes. If you're losing weight, you can stay on the same dose as long as it's working. The moment your weight loss stalls for a couple of weeks, you can bump up your dose.

Really, 2mg is just a 'starting dose,' so don't stress if the results aren't knocking your socks off yet. Some folks just don't react as strongly as others.

Stick to the dose until the end of the month and then make your 5th pin the one you increase, go to 2mg. The main measure is going to be whether weight is changing or not but think in terms of 4 weeks because of the half life once you change dose it takes a month to reach its steady state and you don't know if its enough until that 4th dose. Slow and steady there are less sides and you will still loose weight and this is a long term project.

My wife and I have been dosing 1.5 to 2 MGs of Tirzep for 9 weeks. As of 9 weeks in we both have about 1.5 MGs in our bodies. We have had perfect results and every benefit you can ask for. We have both lost about 10% BF in this 9 week period. So I feel it’s dependent on the person. Not the weight. This is from one lab rat to another.

The issue isn't bodyweight, it is the fact that Reta isn't particularly good at appetite suppression. Tirz is the champ for that. If that is what you are looking for, Triz would be a much better choice. Many people report not getting appetite suppression on Reta until they hit 6-8mg. I would not expect you to be feeling much if any suppression at 1mg.
