Hey everyone, quick question, has anyone donated plasma while on Reta? I donate pretty regularly for some extra cash and wasn't sure if being on Reta disqualifies you or if there's anything I should know before going in. I'm 7 days in at 2mg so still pretty early but just want to make sure I'm not wasting a trip lol. Anyone have experience with this?

No experience here but watching this thread, tirz for me but I've been wondering the same! I donated a couple times before starting tirz. My dogs have been costing me a lot of $$$ in vet bills recently and some extra cash to help pay those off would be great so I've been wanting to start again.

As someone who gets blood products and who also used to work for a specific unnamed blood donation company (and absolutely despises them for how they treat their employees AND donors), I would recommend being completely off. FDA says it's fine to donate, same with the Canadian regulatory body (if you are taking a GLP-1 medication). But this is a bit different than your average GLP-1; hence my hesitation. It's one thing to be testing yourself; another to subject someone nonconsenting who really needs your blood to survive.

Funny aside.... lots of people tried to donate while on booger sugar, thinking it was chill. It was not chill.

Yeah when I was on prescription Wegovy (paying $500 a month 💀) it was fine to donate. But research peps are a no go.
I’m going to PNG soon so I’ll be excluded for another 3 years anyway.

In my experience if you tell them you are self injecting they will not allow you to donate. So your options are don't tell them or don't do it. I am sure to get bashed for this but... Most people doing nonapproved Peps are doing some shady stuff so...

Dont tellem shit. Theyll check ur bp and heartrate, hemo/hema and likely a cheap drug test for injected stuff(fent, heroin, meth, coc) wouldnt worry about weed or all those centers and blood drives would stop...Glp1s are amino acids already in ur body. If u mention self injection you just became an iv drug user. Admit nothing. Deny everything. Make counteraccusations.

Most plasma centers don't have Retatrutide on their disqualification list yet since it's still pretty new/experimental — but policies vary by center. Best move is just to call ahead and ask, you don't have to mention the brand name, just say you're on a GLP-1 peptide and see what they say. At 7 days and 2mg you're also still very early so side effect-wise you're probably fine, but the center's policy is the real variable here.

I'm quite curious about which specific unnamed company but I understand why it would be kept unnamed. 👀

Currently on prescribed compounded tirz that I would of course disclose so I was thinking of donating in that time to help with mounting vet bills from my dogs. I had a couple experiences with a plasma company before starting and they seemed.. fine but some of the people in there donating definitely looked, uh... Questionable. Not surprised at the booger sugar thing 🙈

Retas not on the list yet? So tirz and sema are? Ur making shit up. Theres no blood test that measures 30 chain aminos and levels unless you wanna spend 8k per person.

Rhymes with banadian blood bervices. I think prescribed would be fine, methinks. It's just reta is pretty new and given all the issues around jeep and sterility, etc., I would be worried. That's the boring responsible take I have on that.

I think it's fucked up people have to do it for money! I hear you, my old girl in her last years was so expensive to look after. Vets are so expensive, my god. And they really make you feel like shit for not giving them 10,000$ right off the bat in order to help your dog with some drug therapy that MIGHT help. I'm no morality police on the matter and money is tight. You gotta do what you gotta do

It's just plasma. They filter it. Doesn't matter if you're on meth when you come in. Ask me how I know. Don't tell them you're injecting Chinese drugs.

The real scary part is getting it drawn while you're in a calorie deficit. No thank you. Had a roommate who did the whole round of donations and watched him wither into nothing over the course of a few months. Legit looked like he had cancer.

I stopped because I couldn't answer honestly the question about injecting something not prescribed by my doctor. If I did they would defer me.

The only reason they ask you that is to screen out STDs. They don't care what drugs you're taking.

I agree they might not worry about peptides. And yet I'll defer to Cumulus' comment above that's it's one thing to experiment with Chinese drugs yourself but it's not something I want to impose on someone else.

Homeless drug users pay for their drugs with donated plasma. I promise that peptides are not a concern.

And yet I have to lie to pass the screening and I'm not desperate enough to do that yet. But if I have to choose between getting my tirz and lying I will be re-evaluating. 😁 And your comments are for sure taken into consideration.

Donated blood this am. They didnt ask about illicit drugs at all. Just self injecting without a prescription. Im self precribed so answered no.

Youd only pass on a nice glucose and lipid level.....
