My grandma and grandpa (mom’s parents) both got dementia so my mom is paranoid. She’s 62.
sema has been studied and shown to prevent/slow the progression anyone know the dosing??? I couldn’t find it anywhere … I mean I assume it’s the standard but does it need to be maxed out???? I was going to just set her up on the starting dose and keep her there she has no weight issues. But if anyone knows of any studies or anywhere that has the dosing would appreciate!

Same! Long family history of dementia and both my mom and I are concerned. She’s 65 and doesn’t have any early onset signs - and I’d like to keep it that was as long as possible.

I’ve been researching Pinealon, Semax, and Cerebrolysin or NAD for her….I’d love to hear other ideas and opinions!

My mom is 63 so similar. The research they started on Glp1s stopping the progression and possibly even preventing it have been really good. Shes already thin so weight loss is not necessary which I’ve been wondering if micro dosing would be effective

My mama just got diagnosed with early dementia. Would love any thoughts on semax or selank or if anyone else is toe dipping in dementia slowing/prevention research.

People with Alzheimer's and dementia have reduced level of acetylcholine neurotransmitters. It plays a major role in memory and learning

So you want to boost that as much as possible;
  • avoid taking anticholinergic medications like antihistamines, this blocks that neurotransmitter.
  • take choline rich food like eggs or supplement like alpha-gpc, but don't overdo it. Choline is a precursor of acetylcholine.
  • vitamin b5 for proper acetylcholine synthesis.
  • caffeine
  • all the usual lifestyle advices; eat well, sleep well, exercise, avoid prolonged stress.

This is my assumption already being thin though I think I’ll keep her at starting dose since appetite suppression is completely unnecessary
At least for the wealthy, Dr. Seeds in Beverly Hills has experience with using GLPs in dementia patients, trying to balance the potential benefits with the risk of sarcopenia, dehydration, etc.

I am guessing he is pretty conservative since he doesn't want lawsuits, and I don't know if most of his dementia patients were overweight. For some dementia patients, I guess it also depends on how many Ensures or Boosts they may be willing to drink, if any. There are high-calorie versions, but they may be less tasty and thicker.

Dr. Seeds mentions cerebrolysin and others in his book Peptide Protocols.

For cerebrolysin, which he says can help with dementia and Alzheimer's, he suggests a daily dose of 215 mg for a 4-week cycle (subq or IM). He also gives an IV dose.

For Semax, which is "also used to help with memory and cognitive disorders," he suggests 100-300 mcg daily subq, depending on patient response. He gives a stronger dosage for intranasal spray.

cerebrolysin at 215mg/dose would bring me to $40/ day if i buy bulk, not talking about the lumps for IM pinning. Probably the IV is the way to go but again, daily??!!?? I would look like h addict

My mother had uncontrolled diabetes for who knows how long before I was able to step in and help her. She wouldn't test herself or take any medicine without someone giving it to her. I can only assume that she was doing this for many years. While I tried to get her to take care of her diabetes better I was unable to do it all for her everyday. That is what started my family down the GLP-1 path. One I learned that Ozempic was a once a week shot I talked to her doctor and got her on it. I may not be capable of getting her to test herself and give herself insulin I am certainly able to give a shot on Sunday. Her A1c dropped from 12.6 to 5.2 Unfortunately the years of elevated blood sugar took its toll. Her official diagnosis is "cognitive decline" I can only wonder how many dementia cases are just people with uncontrolled diabetes too.

My husband has never been overweight but is still a diabetic. He has been taking 1mg of Ozempic a week for about 9 months or so. He hasn't lost any weight at all. His blood sugar numbers have vastly improved though.

Have you looked at IndiaMart? Seems like 10 doses in an ampule, and each ampule is $15 or so. (Kawal doesn't list it on his website, but he has a larger inventory than is reflected there. So you may want to contact him on WhatsApp.)

That’s super helpful. Thank you. I’m going to start my mom on 1mg of tirzepatide this week since that’s what im on and it’s convenient..
she also has chronic pain from a spinal cord injury so I’m curious to see if there are any improvements there.

I’m guessing my grandpas was… they called it “vascular dementia” but he did take his insulin I had it all drawn up for him and watched what he ate… his blood sugar was always sky high,. He unfortunately was never offered a glp1 and I did not know about them at the time. It did not run in his family at all.
