yeah, it’s quite unbelievable.

I started with 15mg Reta from a website called muscle shop. My friend has been juicing for a long time and he put me onto the site for Reta. I am now on a 20mg vial from Apex Peptides and I’m awaiting my first grey market shipment from JEEP.

The Journey: I started at about 325. After the first week on Reta (1mg), the only thing I noticed was getting full super fast. It was absurd. 2 rolls at Texas Roadhouse, 2 sweet teas, and I couldn’t even eat my entree a few days after my dose.

I then went up to 2mg a week later. On that same day, I saw my doctor and got my blood work done. My BP was also high which has nothing to do with Reta. I was completely honest with her about the drug I’m on (Reta) and she did a little research and told me it just looks like a GLP-1 to her. Everything came back fine with my blood work except my vitamin D which has always been low and my cholesterol was a little high. Both of these are not due to reta. I was prescribed lisonipril for my blood pressure and given a sheet to log my weight and blood pressure daily for two weeks. This is when I saw the fat just melting off my body.

After the 2mg, I felt nauseous next day. But to me, I liked that feeling. It wasn’t too bad. It was just enough nausea to force myself to eat with I liked. After this, I found myself ordering Wendy’s and throwing away half my burger and just feeling sick of it.

I stayed on 2mg for a few weeks then went up to 4 which I’m on currently. I believe I will be upping to 5 soon. I also feel like that after some time stored, reta becomes less strong. People say 21-28 days refrigerated but to me it’s a lot stronger when I first constitute it.

I am now 284 as of two days ago. I had to stop taking my lisonopril because I was starting to almost faint when I’d stand up. My guess is, dropping 40lbs lowered my blood pressure naturally.

My biology
For starters, I’m 24. I go to the gym often. I’m not 284lbs of fat but I’m also not lean by any means. My job is semi active.

Congrats on your progress! My son is 25 and started reta several months ago. He’s a total sloth and doesn’t have your good gym habit. His physiology also seems to be much more forgiving with respect to what goes into the pie hole, while still losing weight, compared to his old man. I keep telling him that men reach their peak around age 25 and it only gets harder from there. Hopefully, he’ll figure it out sooner than I did.

Good for you getting free from the Lisinopril. I developed a wet not dry cough from the stuff which took me a month to figure out IT was the cause and not the lingering effects of a chest cold. 🤨 Took several months for that now dissipating cough to disappear entirely.
VA Dr. prescribed it to me for high BP as well. Didn't mention that all indications were that I had METABOLIC SYNDROME- high BP, overweight ( 5'9 and about 240ish )...and that I could lower BP by taking better care of myself.
I'd never heard of it. Metabolic syndrome. Just chalked it up to a beer belly and poor eating and exercise habits.
I cut out the beer and started to eat better FOOD and exercise and voila-bye bye high blood pressure and better labs.
And after weight loss stalling and the frustration of it, at 200 for MONTHS, I delved into peps in July and have been researching ever since. CW 175.
This forum is FULL OF USEFUL INFO and plenty of folks that are glad to be able to help someone else avoid pitfalls they wished they had. I'm glad I found it.
Still wish there was a tip jar...🤓🤣

I legit went to my PCP for a loss of smell due to a questionable nasal irrigation ingredient, wondering when or if my sense of smell might come back, I watched her google my question and read through a few search results before summarizing them to me with a “idk” shrug. Like, I get that question was out of the ordinary, granted. But I don’t think I’m paying $325 for a visit where you google the answer!

In your case- that’s very surprising. I should think any PCP would be up to date with at least the up and coming drugs that handle treating the #1 health concern in USA! (Metabolic syndrome) First off, GLP-1 class medications are not just for weight. They treat a HOST of health problems related to hormone imbalances; Second, Retatrutide is head and shoulders above any other GLP-1/GIP med currently approved. It doesn’t just slow your hunger, or correct insulin sensitivity. It is a synergistic tool reset of your entire system. It changes the way your reward system works, the way your body signals hunger, glucose handling, insulin release and even BMR. That’s just scratching the surface. Do a deep dive in the research and anecdotal results across the board for grey market researchers like us.

IMO, it is a huge shortcoming of a medical professional to not have heard of it, and then after brief review dismiss it as a “GLP-1.” It should be on her radar at least, and she should have basic understanding of how it is different from the other GLP-1/GIP peptide medications available. But this is a common problem with healthcare professionals, they learned what they were taught and never moved on from it. Older docs are often stuck using long outdated treatments and holding long outdated perspectives on modern disease. Critical thinking and continuing education are too often completely missing.

Wow, congratulations! Thats awesome progress and I hope to have similar effects as you. Please update with how your purchase from JEEP went and the product! I’m interested in using them as well

Thank you everyone I’m just now visiting the forum. My order from JEEP with Molly arrived today after using US resellers for my first two vials. It’s a little hard to explain, but the peptide looks more white and it’s sitting at the bottom unlike from the US resellers.

I trust it regardless, I feel like it looks better, more pure. But that could just be a visual appeal.

They should all look similar to this. I can't say I've had a vial that doesn't. What "reseller" did you go with and what vendor was it? Love your username btw and congrats on losing! I've lost about 47 pounds in 3 months while on tirz and reta.

I know people mean well congratulating weight loss, but 40 lbs in just two months is extremely fast and can be dangerous without medical supervision. That pace often means losing water, muscle, or putting the body under serious stress. That’s closer to what doctors see with illness, dehydration, or severe restriction.

Safe, sustainable loss is usually closer to 1–2 lbs per week, and even that depends on the person. We really need to stop glorifying unsafe weight loss and start celebrating sustainable, healthy living instead.

I have eaten every day on retatrutide except maybe once.

I starved myself for 21 days in 2023 and only saw -15lbs which was very quickly regained. That, was unsafe.

I disagree on my weight loss being “unsafe” especially when I’m eating everyday and able to get lifts in at the gym.

I keep hearing “fast weight loss is unsafe.” But for some reason it’s always people as big or bigger than me saying that…

Being obese is unsafe. I’ve been off lisonopril for the past week after losing 40lbs since I started on it 2 months ago with a BP of 16x/9x. These were my numbers today. So again, I completely disagree with the weight loss being unsafe. The only thing “unsafe” was my weight to begin with

Edit: I will say, my water intake has been terrible. My liquid intake in general. That’s one of the only things I’d like to improve currently.

Unsafe counter: 6

Yes, losing weight too quickly can be unsafe. A part of the weight you lose has to be processed by your liver and can be damaging. The reason larger people say this is because we are the ones who have been counselled about weight loss safety. Just because you are currently able to eat and go on with your activities is not proof that no damage is being done. When my father in law was actively dying of liver cancer he was still eating and going about his everyday life. That didn't mean he was fine.

One point in your favor though is that a significant portion of initial weight loss is generally water. If the lisinopril you took was combined with hydrochlorothiazide that is going to speed it up. As those two drugs can be combined into one pill. I don't know if that's what you are taking ... I just mentioned it as a possibility. Then add to that is your admission that you haven't been drinking enough water.

You are right about needing to improve your hydration. You absolutely do. Your body needs water in order to complete the fat loss process. Dehydration can slow the fat loss process to a stand still but convince you that you are losing weight just because the scale says so.

Final thought. If it is as I believe .. that you are actually dehydrated .. then when you correct that situation you are going to regain weight. I just want you to know that its not going to be because you are doing something wrong or that the reta isn't working anymore.

Taking the initiative to lose weight is truly commendable — congratulations on making that commitment to your health. You didn’t get to 325 lbs overnight, so it’s important to remember that expecting to “melt it off” overnight isn’t a fair or sustainable goal, especially if you want these results to last.

It’s great that you’re already seeing positive changes with medication and blood pressure, but a 40-lb drop in just two months is still extremely fast, even for someone starting at a higher weight. When the body changes that quickly, it means it’s reacting to something intense or extreme — not necessarily bad, but definitely something to monitor closely.

And I’m not saying this from a place of judgment or jealousy — (I don't weigh more than you, I weigh 135 lbs) I'm saying this because I’m a clinician. I’m sharing this because I want you to be healthy and successful long-term, not just lighter on the scale.

Here’s why rapid weight loss is generally considered unsafe:

1. It often indicates loss of muscle and water, not just fat.
Even when you’re eating, dropping weight that quickly usually means your body is breaking down muscle tissue and glycogen stores. Muscle loss lowers metabolism and can make it harder to sustain weight loss long-term.

2. It stresses major organs.
The liver, kidneys, and heart all work harder to handle the rapid metabolic changes. Sudden fat breakdown releases fatty acids and other byproducts that can overwhelm those systems.

3. It can cause gallstones and electrolyte imbalance.
People who lose weight quickly—especially more than 3–4 lbs per week—have a significantly higher risk of gallstones and dehydration-related issues (like heart palpitations or dizziness).

4. It can mask dehydration or nutrient deficiency.
You mentioned your water intake is low—that can amplify the risks. Some of the “weight loss” may be from water depletion rather than fat reduction, which can cause fatigue, cramps, or kidney strain.

5. And for most people, it’s not sustainable, which makes weight regain more likely.

So my message is to say only that your body deserves careful support. Focus on hydration, adequate nutrition, and consistent follow-up with your provider so your progress can happene in a healthy, maintainable way.

Let's lighten up on the judgment and lectures folks.

Every one of us on a weight loss journey experiences things differently, including the rate and amount of weight loss - especially early on. For many people, this may be a new and unpredictable experience, so learning how to adapt and find the right balance can take some time. While well-intentioned, often comments about another person's methods, approach, or results can come across negatively ("you're doing it wrong!") and that requires putting some thought into comments to remain respectful, helpful, and encouraging.

I'm usually on board with your comments.... But this time, I respectfully disagree. Only MsGizmo and I commented about safety and your characterization of our comments as judgmental or preachy seems way off base.
I can speak personally for myself. My intention is to share evidence-based information about weight loss safety and sustainability, not to criticize anyone personally.

Everyone’s experience is different, and early results can vary widely — which is why I highlighted the science behind rapid weight loss, especially in someone starting at a high weight. Sharing that information is meant to support health and long-term success, not to tell anyone “you’re doing it wrong.”

I think this site can be a place for helpful, factual guidance, and part of that is being honest about potential risks while still encouraging positive progress. And we shouldn't stifle anything that's meant to keep people safe.

I didn't get the feeling they were lecturing as much as trying to make the OP aware of their genuine concerns. Of course, if the OP feels he was being lectured to...
