Depending on what surface you dropped it on and from what height, I would do a little cost benefit analysis on using them. The one I dropped shattered into a million pieces thus removing the conundrum for me. Yes, the do get jostled in transit/delivery but there is at least some protection via case/box/packing material there. You'll get varying opinions on this subject, so it essentially boils down to where you fall on the risk aversion scale.

I love that this is even a discussion. I wonder if while being shipped from china if the merchandise is ever dropped.
