Been taking Reta since mid November and have lost 30lbs and the experience has been amazing. The only thing I was worried about was the elevated rhr as I had a heart attack in August. Doing some research I started taking taurine, and wow that stuff works fast, 82bpm to 72bpm after the first day. Basically what I am saying is there are solutions to any problems these awesome meds could have. Highly recommend taurine to anyone having a similar issue.

That’s very interesting. My RHR has increased since being on Glps. I just bought some taurine. What dosage were you using? I bought 500 mg. I’d thought I’d try 500 every other day, and work my self up to 1500 mg every day. I tend to be cautious.

1000mg is what seems to work for me. It also gives me a pretty nice energy boost and an overall feeling of calm. Great stuff.
I bought the NOW brand off Amazon that is 1000mg tablets. I usually take one around lunch and one in the evening. I'm not sure how much it is lowering my RHR rate but I have zero negative effects from it.

I take 1000mg Taurine for other reasons, no real impact on my RHR unfortunately.

this is a really useful tip. it'd be nice to take reta too. i can also use my beta blockers i guess.
I am also taking a beta blocker, metoprolol 25mg 2x a day. From what I have read a BB will not help lower RHR from the reta as reta raises through a different channel, but it does help you lower your baseline.

I was on metoprolol after my heart attack but it caused ed. Doctor switched me to atenol and I’ve been fine since.

i use nebevidol. bystolic
I keep switching back and forth between nebivolol and metoprolol. I was on the lowest dose (2.5mg) and needed more to keep my HR down but it also lowered my BP too much.

I switched to 2x 25mg metoprolol and BP seems to be a little higher and HR is a little better.

I really think the Tirz was driving it up and my cardiologist confirmed when I saw him last week. On 10mg Tirz I would regularly have a HR in the mid -80s just sitting on the couch. Since I have started titrating down Tirz (currently 5mg) and up Reta (currently 2mg but going to 4) my heart rate is in the 70s in the same (sitting on my ass) situation. I'll see what happens this week when I pin 4mg of R. Since I am practically at goal, I am hoping 4-6mg will be my maintenance dose.
