Exodus that simple?

I downloaded the exodus app, verified my ID, added a card and bought 25.00 of BTC.... let's assume it was 400.00.... I can literally now send this to a vendor through send option? Still have to learn about payment addresses but is this the basic idea? This was easier than PayPal or Wise transfer....
Vendor will give you their payment addr. you pay and give them confirmation number.

Pretty cool you can change your crypto right there to another digital currency. I'm trying to figure why there only 1tron and 1 etherum, but vendors say usdt tron and usdc tron... unless I get the option right before sending....or am I way off?

Uh oh, just slipped back into that coma and now can only speak old lady again 🤤
It's like that movie Awakenings, it didn't last but it was great for a little while 😂

You need a small amount (couple dollars) of tron or etherium in order to use USDT on either network.

USDT itself is listed under Tether.

So to use USDT-erc20 (etherium network) you need to buy Etherium coin and convert it to USDT. Then when you send it, it uses a small amount etherium coin.

Download the app and just sniff around. If u just use bitcoin all you have to do is BUY and SEND... so if ur bill was 350.00 I'd prolly buy 380 to cover fees and price fluctuation... ur 350 may be worth 329 or 369 in a matter of hours.

Thanks I get it mostly. If a vendor uses USDT as a stand alone I could just send tether usdt? I've seen USDT and USDC accepted by vendors without specific tokens... I see why it's stable and dollar based. I could just use one of them if it's not specified -erc20 or trn20, just we accept USDT, USDC,BTC, ? Thanks again. I'll prolly use just BTC initially regardless if I end up paying another 10% a day later.

You have to know which "network" you are using. I had to learn most of this part just yesterday! Tether(USDT) is on the Tron network. If I sent it to the address I was given for USDT-erc20, I would have been screwed (from what I now understand) Something in my gut told me to HOLD ON and do some more "learnin". I did a lot of Googling yesterday but finally learned how to figure out which network Tether was on and sent through USDT-TRC20. ...now I have a little Eth, Tether, some TRX ?? and BTC. I've moved up to being a Crypto "Toddler"!!! 🥳
I'm pretty sure I have paid more fees than necessary during this learning curve!

(Now, I still do not understand exactly why I was required to purchase more TRX in order to use my Tether but I said what the hell and bought $30 of that. At this point I feel like I'm throwing money all over the place to figure this out but I'm stubborn that way!)

Thanks brother! I fuckin knew it wasn't as simple as I thought. I'll keep studying. I'm definitely doing a low dollar test first to any vendor before I go 3 or 4 hundred. I see where you could screw urself. Too bad it doesn't tell you non compatible transaction until u get it right.

The stuff you don't need or ever use u could always switch over I guess. To think 7 years ago I was sending cash in a bag of Gummi worms inside a priority mail envelope to a guy in CA for steroids.... graduated to western union and money gram. Then cash app and paypal, now this! Correct me if I'm wrong, on exodus btc is btc right? Or must I still worry about what network or what medium I'm using? Hoping btc is the basic universal thing without variations...

I would too for simplicity, but I cant even get an orders worth of $ from coinbase to exodus without waiting days on end, and I bled 20$~ due to volatility
If ur already on exodus you can buy right there. No transfer to wallet. It goes right into ur account/wallet... delete any coinbase as ur "payment method" and add ur debit card to ur account. You control the money, a 3rd party can't freeze it, unless ur huge.

If you are in the US are you reporting details of every transaction on your tax return? You are supposed to. That is what is deterring me.

Ive seen a lot of warnings against sending payments from the same wallet you acquire the crypto from. dont believe you have to report payments as much as you do acquisitions, could be wrong.

Gains/Losses (more like gambling or eBay sales. Personal use peptides aren't gonna get you there)

Sounds like you created some Crypto "Dust"!
I like Exodus so far.

Coinbase is on my nerves though. the hold on my funds and limited single purchases is insane.
If you have PayPal linked to your bank account buying and transferring PYUsd to your Exodus wallet is almost instant. Coinbase will speed up with time and familiarity (whitelisting) but steer clear of their proprietary "Base" network! It's like peeling a "Chiquita' sticker off a banana and trying to reuse it as a postage stamp. No Bueno!

Not with exodus.... Google it. You skip the 2 and 3 hops to different wallets. Ur not.followed cuz it's urs. Coinbase and others have no say it wasn't purchased through them.

THANKS!

I'll DM you my crypto addresses and you can send various mystery amounts to my wallet. I'll report those amounts to you and you can match them against what you sent to insure you're doing it correctly. Unlike banking ACH verification done in cents let's use whole dollars in the hundreds. Lemme know when you're ready... Practice makes perfect!

Best I can do is two 3dollar transactions.... btc and usdt....

Sure, along with never speeding, swearing, ordering peptides from overseas, lol
Don't forget the 600 a year you spend at IndiaMart.... I report that as feed the children expense.
