You have to know which "network" you are using. I had to learn most of this part just yesterday! Tether(USDT) is on the Tron network. If I sent it to the address I was given for USDT-erc20, I would have been screwed (from what I now understand) Something in my gut told me to HOLD ON and do some more "learnin". I did a lot of Googling yesterday but finally learned how to figure out which network Tether was on and sent through USDT-TRC20. ...now I have a little Eth, Tether, some TRX ?? and BTC. I've moved up to being a Crypto "Toddler"!!! 🥳
I'm pretty sure I have paid more fees than necessary during this learning curve!
(Now, I still do not understand exactly why I was required to purchase more TRX in order to use my Tether but I said what the hell and bought $30 of that. At this point I feel like I'm throwing money all over the place to figure this out but I'm stubborn that way!)
