Crypto is supposed to be easy and painless and efficient.
So I only had to try 3 different accounts (venmo, Google pay, debit card), do 2 fraud verifications, supply my SSN, drivers license, and picture of my face to even FUND my wallet. That actually created another wallet on moonpay so now I have 2 wallets.
To get enough tethers for a $300 order, I had to pay $330 on my card. Then I didn't have enough tron sitting around to pay for a transaction so I almost had to buy another $30 (minimum card transaction amount) to get tron so can send tether. Luckily I found a few Tron sitting in my second wallet so I sent those to my main wallet and paid some fees.
After all this I was able to create a transfer to the vendor, which cost some more fees. I made triple checks on the vendors wallet address and the network because of I happened to send tethers on the wrong network it would be gone forever.
I made the payment, vendor is happy, but tethers that cost me 1.03usd to purchase were only worth 1.00 by the time I sent them, so this "stablecoin" cost me another 3% in spread to the exchange.
To me this is all pretty silly and way too expensive in fees etc. But I guess I did send money to China in like 1 hour so that's cool
