Filter yes or no

No filtering. If I can get a cut that gets dirty or my cat can break my skin with her claws or teeth without developing an infection, I should be ok. Good immune system.
My cat actually administers my injections, then he licks up any push back. Now my kitty is more jacked than I am.

This is satire, do not let your cat be your nurse.

But my cat is so good at making biscuits on my injection sites afterwards. Really helps the peptides get into the tissue. lol.

Question about purging.

I tried filtering for the first time today. I had a pocket of air right behind the liquid. I was able to push the liquid through easily enough, but when the pocket of air hit the filter, there was a lot of resistance.

I read that this is normal because the filter is wet. But then how are you supposed to purge the holdback, if the air won't even pass through?

I am not sure how much pressure is safe to apply in an effort to do the purge. Worried about popping the filter.

I just take the filter off and pull in an ml or so of air and push it through. It does take more pressure, but by then the filter has done its job. If it won't go at all, the filter is clogged and done, but I've never had that happen.

Well, I already have a pocket of air behind the liquid - because I suck in some air into the syringe before I suck in the liquid. But when the time comes to push the air through, it doesn't. Just compresses all the way down and springs back.

Maybe I need more air? How much air do you get into your syringe?

This is why I buy from vendors that provide mass, purity, sterility, and endotoxin test results so that I don't have to risk contaminating my own products. But of course, not every product I get contains those tests - they will need to be filtered.

When you join enough groups on telegram, it is inevitable, and in a great way, to find test results of the compound and/or peptide that you received.

I'm telling y'all, if y'all want to find out which groups provide those test results and/or want to get good quality products, DM me. I will show you the way! 🙂
And you trust they are sending the same batch tested?

Up to 2 ml. Once the pressure builds up to a point, it will push through all at once, if the filter isn't clogged. I use 3 ml syringes for filtering.

Please can I get some guidance on filter types for peptides?

Which version, brand? I'm particularly interested in heavy metal/ metal contamination removal.

Thanks

Think about this. That's exactly what you want. The purpose of the air purge is to push the last of the liquid/'tide thru the filter. Once there is no more liquid, the air resists going thru.

Do you want the air to go thru? No. You want all of the liquid. Once the syringe gets hard to push, you're done.

Am I reading this right? You're taking a syringe, with say, 1.5ml of reconstituted peptide, pushing it thru a filter, and then pushing another 2ml of air thru that filter as well?

I filter. I air purge. I do about 0.2ml.

Meh, I filter. I buy vials that have some kinda XYZ sterility standards/certification from lab supply sites, though I do have some of those suspect amazon vials...I am less concerned about getting sick than I am about having a reconstituted vial go bad from unfiltered contaminants while siting in the fridge for 6-8 weeks. It takes about a minute and a half to do. It's cheap enough. There are enough suspect links in the GLP-1 'chain'...seems like trying to make sure that that link is as solid as you can is a good thing and worth doing...

I want all of it, so I use up to 2 mL with a 13 mm filter. Usually it's less. I also use 4 mm which need less, but I have no issue using more air. As it's also going through the filter, I want to hear the hiss.

I just reconstituted two R60's last night, and forgot about the air instead of a separate 10u of BAC. Dang it. I also never looked at the total volume of 62.6mg and based it on 60mg. I doubt it'll make much difference.

Its not major, but the hold up on a 13mm filter is 7-10IU, depending on the brand. A 4mm is 2-3 IU. It not a lot in the grand scheme of things, especially with an overfill, but it might be a buck or two if you look at it that way. The cheap ass in me just thinks of how much is wasted cumulatively, if you add it up over time every time you recon.

There was a bit of a chat about this earlier. Turns out that for a Biologix 13mm 0.22μm filter, the pre-purge holdback is about 250-300 μL (25-30 units), and post-purge is about 15-25 μL (2-3 units).

And I am not worried about the wastage as much; just that the last dose will be short (if you are reconstituting an exact volume).

The filters used for peptides filter by size, anything bigger than 0,22µm. Like bacteria or some viruses. Heavy metals are not on the list. Neither are endotoxins.

So you want 0,22µm, usually PES (hydrophilic) for the liquid and PTFE (hydrophobic) for venting. The diameter of the filter for the liquid shouldn't be too small in relation to the amount of liquid you want to get through it. 13mm should be enough for up to 10 ml.

That's why I use 4mm for most of my filtering for 3 mL or less. But it's like BAC, filter size is like a religion to some.
