I am struggling to understand what kind of filters to buy and if needle size actually matters for filtering peptides. I only do Tirzepatide at the moment. I’ve watched the videos but I still feel like I might not be buying the right products.

I use 2213’s and 3ml syringes with 25g 1.5” needles for the draw. The longer needle makes it easier to draw the full contents of the vial.

These are the "standard" filters you can use to help sterilize product.

I usually get smaller ones only because it doesn't take as much product out compared to the ones shown above.

There are groups out there that test for mass, purity, endos and sterility so you won't have to worry about sterilizing product; doing your own sterilization process can further contaminate the product especially if you're not using proper protocol, but I guess peace of mind, right? 🤣

I feel like the 25g leaves a giant hole in my vial, I switched to 30g. I imagine it would work fine either way though right? Like 25g doesn’t have some kind of benefit over 30g? It’s just preference?

30 is fine. I’m just used to 25’s from injecting oils and they come in the longer options.

The thinner 30g might bend in longer lengths

The size difference is not as much as you would think, plus the size of the "hole" doesn't matter because you should NOT be re-using the same vial once you draw out the fluid to filter it; that would negate the reason for filtering.

I've used 25g, 27g, 30g noodles anywhere from 1-1.5". I haven't noticed any meaningful difference between any of them. I just use what I have on hand.

The filters I use are 13mm 0.22 micron PES filters. I've also used 4mm before. Some people say you can only push 1mL through a 4mm filter, but I've successfully pushed 4-5mL through one before, especially with tirz. You just need to push it through slower than a 13mm so you don't risk blowing out the filter. Here's the link for the filters that i buy.

First of all, I’m really glad you’re filtering your peps. Once you get used to it and get into the groove, it honestly becomes pretty straightforward.. and almost therapeutic.

For needles, I generally use whatever I have available. For pulling the pep, I prefer something around 22–25g for speed, but for the actual filtering step, the needle size doesn’t matter that much in my experience.

If you want to keep things simple and lean, I’d just get a big box of 25g 1.5" needles. You can use them for drawing, filtering, and as an airer, so that covers most situations without needing a bunch of different needle sizes.

Some people say you can only push 1mL through a 4mm filter, but I've successfully pushed 4-5mL through one before, especially with tirz.

Sorry, that was a bit unclear. 🙃 I've pushed through 4-5mL of other peps, but if OP is only pushing tirz with 1-2mL, a 4mm filter should be perfectly fine. I don't think I would know what to do with T100. Since I'm almost on maintenance at 5mg, that would go bad before I could ever use it up. lol

Right, I filter it into a new sterile vial, but I feel like it leaves a bigger hole in the top of the sterile vial. Maybe I’m not using the right vials.
