I have never been big on going to the doctors. But I had to breakdown and make a special appointment due to perimenopause effects. I'm hoping to get my hormones checked and get on HRT o something.

I'm wondering if anyone has done HRT? or other things to help with perimenopause. Doesn't have to be peptide therapy but even traditional medical therapies. I'm trying to prepare for my appointment so I know what might be out there to help.

Small dose of testosterone.

I do HRT and traditional medicines for peri.

Celexa is a good all around anti-depressant and anti-anxiety med. It also is known to help reduce number of hot flashes.

If hot flashes at night are causing you problems with sleep, Clonidine is a great medication, it's even given to kids and has an off-label use for night-time hot flashes.

Those two meds kept me sane 🙂

Veozah is a med that is just for hotflashes, I never took it so can't comment. Instead of going to my PCP, I went to a clinic that specializes in women's issues. I think that made all the difference.

Hormone replacement saved my life, my coworkers, and my family lives too. I don't like going to the doctors either so I do like I always do and ordered them online with a virtual visit. 100% worth it.

Yeah I've heard such good things about hormone therapy for perimenopause.

However, I also read that if you have a history of high cholesterol (which I do, apparently genetic based), that hrt can be dangerous.

I just would like to feel normal again if that is possible.

For me my sleep is super affected. There isn't one day when I get 7 to 8 hours a sleep all together. It is usually a 1-3 hours and I wake up go to sleep etc. I also am getting hotflashes at night. Very annoying. Along with some other symptoms.

I think you might have misunderstood something along the way, maybe? Estrogen and progesterone both lower cholesterol. I could always be wrong, but that is what my doctor said, and Dr. Google is backing her up. Could you link where you are finding that hrt can be dangerous with a history of high cholesterol? Mine isn't high anymore, but that kind of makes me nervous🙂
