So…. We took the family to Europe for 18 days. I didn’t bring any peps. Timed
It so it El was a real for everything— including Tirz.

We walked 20k a day and ate lightly. Istanbul - Hungary - Croatia meant healthy food choices each meal.

I was shocked — SHOCKED — that it gained 10 in the 3 weeks away. Especially because we were walking so hard doing 19 floors and 30k each day. Only last two days was chill and swim days. And it was Croatia so lightest food with fresh fish and cucumber salad everywhere.

Ok I did drink more wine than usual. Which means -a glass at dinner and not every time. Mainly Budapest bc they have great wine.

So curious — am I one of those most be on tirz at highest dose for lifers ?! I wad at top dose but at my lowest weight / maintaining when we left for Istanbul. Curious what others experience while taking a travel break. Or maintaining….have at it. Whatcha think?

I'm pretty sure the way it works for most everyone is that these drugs are a workaround, not a cure. GIGO. So it's to be expected that you can't take a break from them. They're easy enough to take along (reconned), especially if you're staying in short-term rentals or hotels with mini-fridges. I've asked a small hotel to keep my vial in their kitchen fridge; they seemed to be familiar with the routine.

I just bought an RXCoolers Mini Medicine Electric Travel Cooler (ebay, but new in unopened box), which I hope will be better than the icepack in insulated thing routine. It basically is its own refrigerator.

Did you have fun and make great memories? Then 10lbs was worth it 😉

That aside, any change in a routine that much for almost 3 weeks. Even with good food and good choices, the body gonna do what it wants sometimes. I think going off of it, once in a while is actually a good reminder of why we take it and appreciate it.

Wait for 3 more weeks and reevaluate then. These 10 lbs are probably not fat (or only a small part of it) and may be gone by that time.

Totally agree. This is probably mostly water weight due to increased carbs holding onto water and if you have aching legs due to all that walking, them muscles too hold onto water to repair. Couple that with heat if you aren’t used to it or lack of aircon, then the body also hangs onto more water. But if a triple whammy going on. But as @Enyola says reevaluate in a few weeks and see where you are. It can feel disheartening but this is what happens to ‘normal’ people, they are just not so sensitive to holiday weight as it just falls back off when they get back to normal routines, Us GLP peebs, need the medication to help that.

People always overestimate how much they burn and underestimate how much they eat. You might think those Eastern European dishes are healthy and light, but they use a lot of oil, fat, and butter everywhere in their cooking and when tossing salads, even though it may not be that obvious. Trust me I have Eastern European friends and they will sneak butter into everything they make and I will sit there wondering why a salad full of olive oil tastes so good.

As I was reading through the first paragraph I was thinking about this person was drinking alcohol. At least you know what probably did you in. I’m sure most of your weight was water weight. It comes off fast. Glad you had a great vacation. We did almost that same trip last year. Bucket list for sure. Isn’t it great how the the Europeans love the Americans. Truly, they were all very kind to us. Especially the Austrians. Nothing like the thousands year old history you can learn about.
