Hey yall,

Maybe this is a stupid question. But I recently got bumped up from “just joined” to novice. And it got me thinking, what are the stages and what are the privileges associated with them? I searched the site and found certain things can’t be discussed until apprentice is reached. But didn’t find much besides that. I’m assuming past that it’s just denoting time here?

If this isn’t answered here for a reason then please delete this post or let me know and I will. Just curious. Once a question is in my head I can’t get it out.

Well I just realized that once you hit novice, posts don’t go to mods automatically for approval. So that’s one question answered.

I didn't originalpy realize I had to participate and get likes and stuff in order to actually talk properly to people when I first joined.. I was just shyly lurking the search bars and reading. Now that I have read more and begun my research it certainly hinders me little if I want to interact with people.

In fairness it is pretty clear here about the restrictions https://glp1forum.com/pages/newmembers/

I read for weeks before I joined and started posting. It's the best way to start.

I'm not sure it really does anything. You'll lose the "No Source Discussion" thing once you hit GLP-1 Apprentice and you'll lose having all of your posts modded at some point too.

Hey, great discussion here. It seems the "no source" thingy is new? Last I was here, There wasn't any.

Apparently a lot of people were having a difficult time respecting the rules and not discussing anything sourcing related until reaching the GLP-1 Apprentice user level.

It's funny though. Literally all of us are thinking in the back of our minds where to get the cheapest and yet the safest "source" possible according to our comfort levels.

And that's perfectly fine.

The issue is the endless onslaught of dishonest people signing up for no other reason than to promote sources, including unproven start-ups that nobody has ever heard of, many being paid or incentivized to post phony positive mentions or reviews, and worse scammers impersonating real sources.

People seeking alternatives to conventional means of obtaining GLP-1s are often already in a position or mindset of desperation that can make them particularly susceptible of being taken advantage of by these shady characters, so we try to do what we can to avoid that to the extent possible. We can't "save" everyone, but experience has led to the development of rules and restrictions for newer members to help reduce the risk to the community at large of being ripped off.

There are countless other sites and platforms for people who disagree with or can't respect our rules and restrictions for new members, and we encourage such people to avail themselves of those other venues.

Straight up. The reddit subs are insane for bad actors trying to scam people.

Personally I love the approach and the efforts to create a meaningful community in this forum . Thank you

I have lurked and read, WAY more than post. I've never noticed differences. Probably b/c I'm not vendor shopping on here. I just like reading and race to the comments for something clever😆 I post on occasion or when it may be helpful or relevant.

In actual fairness, no, it’s not clear at all. It’s only “you’ll get it when you get after interacting enough.” It should read how long you need, and or how many posts/comments/interactions you need. The ominous “you’ll get it when you get it” is pretty discouraging — and objectively not clear.

I think that’s part of the point that the mods were going for. If it was written out in black and white, then people would just wait the necessary time to start the posting

The reasoning for it being ominous is fair. I’m not disagreeing there. I just disagree that it’s “clear” because it definitely isn’t.

Quoting a post I wrote over two months before you even joined the site is cute.

It's clear to me what the system is intended to do, it's clear to me that publishing an arbitrary limit would be counterproductive, and it's clear to me that having 30 posts in 2 days means you are exactly the sort of person the system is designed to stop from gaming.

@GTS97
What are you in such a hurry for? This is not about post-count.
I see you have been asking this question over and over on various threads today.

Do some reading and searching on the forum and look for interesting, helpful contributors to follow.

Usually I prefer to be diplomatic, but directness may be called for.
Please go back and again carefully re-read the
New Member Posting Limitations page.
Then, if you do not understand what "post whoring" means, do a search and learn more about it.

What argument is this? So I’m not allowed to respond to anything posted before I joined? That’s insane.

I didn’t ask any question about it. I was responding to other people talking about it. I did read the rules; I’m not post-whoring. Am I posting meaningless, close ended comments? No, I’m not. I’m allowed to engage.

Did I say you weren't allowed to respond? I said it was cute. If you want to be a pedant picking apart others posts then at least practise what you preach.

Ultimately mate it's a simple as going somewhere else if you you don't like the system. There's no need to bore everyone by joining then moaning about it in loads of different posts. If the rules the mods have applied here aren't for you then just go find somewhere else that suits you better.
