Hello fellow Pepheads/Peptidos who followed the rabbit down it´s hole, like myself.
I myself have an extensive background in microbiology, clinical chemistry, haematology, hygene and endocrinology.
Asked my GP/PCP/Endo more than a year ago for a presciption for Semaglutide or Tirzepatide but was denied because there was not enough evidence published for T1D. So I started calorie counting again, read some of James Smith books, lost 23lbs, gained some 30lbs back. IMHO dieting is full time job and of course science has a lot to say about that.
I finally took matters into my own hands. Subscribed to a program which is called like the new Tesla model or the main ingredient for gin. Did their survey, payed a few hundred (insert currency) and got an 0,25 Ozempic pen delivered.
First and second week were awsome. Is that the feeling normal weighed people have? No cravings 24/7? Appetite yes, but I was never able to stock up on chocolates and crisps. I never ever left my first plate unfinnished and was satisfied. My second or third protion maybe.
Researching the topic even more, I decided to switch to Mounjaro 12,5 (15mg out of stock) and split/titrate the doses. The same amount of (insert currency) would give me 10-14 weeks of treatment instead of 4-6 weeks and even pay a bit less.
Then I tried to save a bit more. Got a cheaper prescription and a 15mg MJ pen. Menwhile dosing 2.5mg every third day ("5.8mg/week" or 4.83-7.32 serum level). Only sideffects were sulfur burbs, gas, less frequent bowel movments and acid reflux. Those coud be treated with an prunes, PPI, chewing gum and frequent cross ventilations.
Down 26lbs in 3 months. I don´t want to go faster because my mothers family side has a history with gallstones (4F or 5F)!
So what brought me here? Listening and watching youtube videos talking about compounding pharmacys in the states. We don´t have that in the europe, except for very scarce/lifesaving drugs or special blends for patiens. A weight loss medication/antidiabetic would probably never get an exemption from the patent. I knew before wholesale drugs were produced in india or china, imported and refined/pressed with additives into their final form and then shipped to the pharmacy. So how could compounding pharmacys get their hands on the "scarce" GLP-1s and GIPs if not directly form the source?!? I believe the only thing that makes GLP-1s so damn expensive is the patent and the application method e.g. Autoinjektor or Kwikpen. (Similar to the Epi-Pen in the states. Epinephrine is cheap.)
Through reddit I found r/tirzepatidehelp and glp1forum. Here @chmuse ´s post "Someone told you to "go grey" and now you're here." I found the rest of the whole shebangabang! At the moment I am following the communities reading and waiting for a good promo to load up and probably take part in group testing!
Hope to hear from y´all!
TLDR: Hello from Europe I am here to stay!
