Given recent events I was just wondering what are the effects of stopping? Is there a kind of withdrawal?
I've seen all the rebound weight gain articles, but I am curious what the experience is like?

So about three years ago now when Mounjaro first came out, I got on it right away and was on it for like 10 or 11 months and lost about 90 pounds. My goal was always to get as healthy as possible so that I could get pregnant and have a really healthy pregnancy. I went off of Mounjaro when my insurance stopped cooperating with the coupon that they had so basically it was gonna be full price after that. Within a month and a half I got pregnant so I can’t say for sure that my experience is typical or if part of it was because I was pregnant. I used the medication the entire time basically to the full extent, meaning I didn’t eat unless I was hungry and I was never hungry on Mounjaro. I was probably averaging like 1000 cal per day for almost a year. However, once I knew I was on my last box of Mounjaro I smartened up and decided to make sure I was trying to eat closer to maintenance so I think I was able to eat like 1900 cal some days but I tried to at least get like 1500 cal per day. I also did low-carb not keto, but like definitely really carb conscious. I was able to maintain my weight loss throughout my pregnancy. I pretty much only gained what I needed to for pregnancy plus maybe like 10 pounds so I feel really proud of myself for keeping most of the weight off. I continued to work out and eat low-carb until like the last month of my pregnancy. I think being pregnant gave me the motivation to like not go off the deep end because I do have terrible food noise that Mounjaro got rid of completely. I ended up gaining all of the weight back postpartum because postpartum is hard and breast-feeding is hard and you’re starving all the time and whatever so my experience may not resonate with everyone, especially men, but I was able to keep the weight off by doing low-carb because my food noise and cravings are much less when I’m doing low-carb. If I go off of retatrutide when I get back to where I wanna be, I will definitely slowly taper off and I will do like a maintenance dose for as long as I can, and as long as I need to. I know people run out and that’s why they stop a lot of times, I only stopped Mounjaro because my insurance wouldn’t cover me so I had no choice to taper off or adjust so that my body could wean off slowly. If you have any say in the matter, taper down.

Once you leave the drugs I believe that you should learn how to eat healthy and keep working out maybe you maintain a Ideal weight, but easier said than done.

My pregnancies and post pregnancy breast feeding caused my big weight gains, after the 2cd one I couldn't get back to where I was. I know what you mean.
