I started researching GLP-1s at the end of last year after watching my daughter's transformation. She had great health insurance and was able to get brand name for $25 a month. After much searching, I found a Telehealth provider that offered a three month starter for the low, low price of $199 a month. When the options are $1500 a month or $199, that's a deal.
Reddit, and a thread that is now banned, directed me to the gray market where I was able to purchase a three month supply for the low, low price of $175. I thought I had found the jackpot. But, wait, it gets better......
And....here I am. I have been doing the footwork for six months now and suddenly my family is like, "Oh, you can get 60mg for $30? I want in on that." Wait just a minute. I'm $2300 into this journey and you aren't going to piggy back on my researching and rabbit holing and come in and get the best deal I can find. But, in the end, I figured I have several years' worth of meds for that $2300 and am helping my family members with their journey, so I caved. I didn't reveal my sources, but I did let them in on my last purchase.
I am only making this topic because I just discovered yesterday that it is required, even though I've been lurking here for a while. I'm pretty sure my "start a topic" count will never be high because I'm more of a commenter than someone who starts a thread asking, "Who is the best vendor." 😁
I am very committed to harm reduction. I asked my POC about starting Tirz at my last appointment. He said he loved it, but that it is expensive. When Lilly offered their "pay direct" program, I had him write me a prescription so it would be in my health chart. I never got it filled, but now my chart shows it as a medication I am on. I also made sure my mother got permission from her POC before I would help her.
I don't know how I stumbled upon this community, but I am happy that I did.
