Hey everyone! I’m brand new to the glp1 world. Didn’t give it much thought until my friend started zep last year and not only lost weight but said the food noise was gone but still gets to enjoy food out and with her kids.
Unfortunately, even though we make way less than they do our state’s Medicaid system sucks for adults and we make too little to get any help on the marketplace (yup that’s a thing) and so I was going to give up because there is no way I can spend $1k a month in it. Then I discovered compounded and even that would have been a stretch but was more doable but reviews were all mixed and we just didn’t have the funds. And through more research I found research peps. I’m a research-aholic and still have found it challenging but we finally have ordered some and should get them in a few weeks.
I’m excited for this option too because we travel for work in the summer and are generally only in a location for a week at a time so that was another issue with compounded or through the dr. And while we’re nervous, I realize drs haven’t exactly helped me ever anyway so why not continue to take matters into my own hands.
I decided to start with tirz since so many have said it helped with their pcos and inflammation and skin issues as well. Even if I don’t lose weight if I could could just help my scalp and pains that would be amazing!
I am nervous about the acid people experience though as I already have such bad acid reflux and have been on omezaprole for years but some have said it was temporary or even that their issues disappeared.
But in a nut shell I’m looking to just enjoy life again without my whole life revolving around a diet. I recently have just gotten to the point where I was giving up on ever losing weight bc after 30years of everyone trying to control my weight and what I eat (even though I don’t eat that much and have tried all the things) I was just over it and wanted to just live my life. So this is just a shimmer of hope again.
As a newb I don’t have much to share atm but definitely love to help when I do.
