Never good at intros, so here goes my best effort.

I’m a 56 year young cancer survivor. Went through breast cancer treatment in late 2023 to mid/late 2024. Did the nasty TCHP chemo, and then four of 12 rounds of Kadcyla which managed to start killing my eyes, so I stopped. Docs tried to put me on an aromatase inhibitor, but the idea of severe osteoporosis (Amongst other side effects) made me decline it. It was only going to give me a 4% more chance of avoid reoccurrence, and that wasn’t worth it for me.

These treatments managed to steal my active lifestyle, and made me gain 40 pounds. Yay?

This year it was getting diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in my lungs - we saw the spots before starting chemo two years ago, but it was a mystery then. Luckily that treatment is easier. It’s like infusions for rheumatoid arthritis. It’s almost gone, and remission will last about 15 years.

Anyway … I spoke to my docs and got the okay to start semaglutide, but after seeing all the side effects and a low ROI, I went with Tirzepatide. Since April I’ve lost a good amount, but still working on that last 10-15. Tirzepatide really got me back to feeling more like my old self. It’s not the same, but at least I can be somewhat active, and start to train to do races again.

I’ve thought about Reta, but it’s still a little unknown for me. I just need to be careful to not put anything into my body that will increase estrogen (breast cancer was ER+), or heal any cancer cells that are still dying from my lastest treatments.

Anyway….that is me in a nutshell.

Walked through hell and back for sure! At least I’m still taking the punches and getting back up.

I made sure to get the okay from my doc before doing any weight loss injections. She and I actually made a plan. I told her to give me three months to see if I could just get my health back, with exercise and eating right. She trusts me on that because since she has known me (20 years), I’ve always taken very good care of my health and have been a solid advocate for making sure I’m on top of things.

Three months later and a whole lot of miles done, there was minimal scale movement - maybe 5 pounds. So I called her and admitted that this was beyond my ability to fix. Then we agreed on the shots. Only thing I did change was not going with semaglutide, due to my propensity towards having side effects with most drugs. Tirzepatide has been smooth sailing.

And yes IF I choose another peptide down the road, I’m going to make sure it doesn’t make me a cancer ticking time bomb. Chemo kinda sucked ass.

I'm in a similar boat when it comes to ruling out peptides that others find beneficial. I'm a voyeur here in that regard but enjoy reading about everyone's success. For me (liver transplant) it's avoiding anything that helps the immune system, has certain effects on kidneys and liver or promotes growth of any kind. I'm limited to GLPs (not Reta) and topicals.

Out of curiosity, why not Reta?

Anything beyond Tirzepatide and Semiglutide is alien to me, to be honest.

It is interesting though reading the posts about the other peptides. If anything it is a free education.

I have a great team of doctors that saved my life with a last minute transplant. I can't imagine telling them I'm rolling the dice trying a drug that's still in testing. I've had cardiac "events" that I don't want to encourage. I'm done with weight loss and in my kush well below goal maintaining.

I agree about the free education! It's fascinating and I'm rooting for everyone!
