I keep hearing “Get your IGF‑1 tested!” but I’m honestly stuck. I’m on HGH, Tesamorelin, Testosterone, and Ipamorelin, and everyone says IGF‑1 is essential to monitor — but I cannot figure out how to actually get this test done. Also 54Male.

My primary doctor even told me she’s never heard of it, which left me even more confused.

The closest place I can use is Quest (www.questhealth.com), but I’ve searched through every menu, every category, every dropdown, and I still can’t find anything that looks like an IGF‑1 test. I’m really trying to do things the right way, but wow… buying grey‑market peptides with crypto was somehow easier than trying to get legitimate lab work.

If anyone here knows how to navigate Quest’s site and can point me to the exact tests I should be ordering, I would seriously appreciate it.

Bonus points if you can tell me whether Quest offers all of these as well: CBC, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, A1c, fasting insulin,, testosterone, free testosterone, estradiol, ApoB, nutrient panel, thyroid panel, CRP.

I've never ordered this test, but fitomicslabs.com has this test as a standalone test. It's called Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) with Z-Score, so just assuming that's what you are wanting.

Sometimes you will see it on the list of labs by Z-score with IGF1. The Z score is really the more important number.

An IGF-1 Z-score measures how much your Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) level deviates from the normal average for your specific age, sex, and pubertal stage. It is reported in standard deviations:

• -2.0 to +2.0: Considered the healthy, normal range.
• Less than -2.0: A low Z-score may suggest Growth Hormone (GH) deficiency.
• Greater than +2.0: A high Z-score may suggest GH excess (such as acromegaly) or overtreatment with GH

This is the test number for quest that I found online. Have them order test 16293, double check it yourself first. Don't just trust some random dude on the interwebs...

I am hearing that. And I trust that advice. The Tesamorelin, and Ipamorelin were cycled and not at the same time. and as I have come into some HGH I am ramping down the Ipamorelin. But what are my levels? no clue?
That's why for all the enthusiasm for these and availability the part I am missing is sourcing getting tested regularly to dial it in.
You are right. What are they doing? how much am I spending? I feel good. but that is a poor metric for what is going on. I appreciate everyone's help and advice on this part.
My goal is to get tested regularly and be able to join conversations that report my levels and success.

When I find a place I will do as you suggest and take all your recommendations. Doesn't look like Fitomics are near me though. I love my rural location but it is sometimes challenging. Thank you for your list. I printed it.

Mine was 135 on my results yesterday. That's in range is all I know. I have considered starting a hgh secretagogue, but not sure yet.

You didn't get a z score? It's hard to make a solid judgement of IGF-1 from just the raw level without a baseline comparison.

I don't think so, I need to look again. This was more of a full metabolic and hormone panel. I asked that IGF1 be included. But I'll have to look again to see, I was mostly focused on other stuff. Thanks for the tip!

Positive I assume? The "normal" range is +/- 2, so you're right around population average.
