Hello

I've been taking HGH for two weeks at 2 IU before bed, along with 2.5 mg/week of retatrutide. I'm on 150 mg of TRT.

For the past few days, I've noticed my face is a bit more swollen, and the mid-face is becoming less defined. I know this is a common side effect, but do you know of any way to address it?

I suppose depending on your age? Start low and go up after a month, like 1 iu.

How are you? Lower than 2 IU? I'm 47 years old and my endogenous HGH should be between 0.5-1.
I'm a little older, I stayed at 1 iu for about 6 weeks and now do a split dose of 1 iu of am and pm.

Fluid retention is a normal effect of hgh, I really do not like the idea of trying to fix it , I am sure taking diuretics would work , but is it a good idea? The main risk being electrolyte disturbances which can have quite serious consequences if not adequately monitored by blood testing, and in general taking a drug to fix the side effects of another drug is usually a unnecessarily complicated and more risky way to go about doing things. Only other alternative is reduced dose. Did you check IGF-1 before starting? 1.5iu/day turned out to be too high a dose in my case with very high IGF-1.

If these are my IGF1 levels before starting HGH therapy, I understand that controlling sodium and increasing potassium helps with water retention.
LISS-type aerobic exercise also helps.

Drink more liquids, take a mild diuretic.

Reducing sodium intake and or increasing potassium is correct and safe. Starting IGF-1 levels are pretty normal. Weird I never had any fluid retention at all despite the very high IGF-1 levels.

I've just started a similar HGH/Reta protocol as yourself, I've been taking Taurine as this apparently helps with water retention. It's only been a week but I haven't noticed any retention yet

At this stage, I'm really conscious of any water retention as I'm sensitive to it. A diuretic is what many would suggest. I would reiterate what Lessthanhalf said. Diuretics and electrolytes balancing is a difficult chore and yet it's mandatory. Be careful. I used telmisartan for nephroprotective benefits when using diuretics

Just hitting the 10 week mark after starting 2iu. On 2IU mild water retention and very slight numbness around the ankle areas (when sitting on the coach and putting my feet up). I tried 2.5IU for 2 days and man it was harsh.

Really bad numbness and ankles looked like my biceps.
Once dropping back to 2IU, all went normal the next day.

Some of the actual pharma companies that produce FDA approved HGH for patients recommend taking it every other night at double the daily target dose to reduce water retention. Example: Instead of taking 2iu's before bed everyday, take 4iu's before bed every other day.
