I’m a male in my 30s and in 2018 I had a gastric sleeve procedure for weight-loss. It took a lot of work and it was very successful. My life improved exponentially. I have been able to keep most of the weight off by making major changes in lifestyle. I eat way better and exercise regularly. However, it’s common for the stomach to expand a little bit over time. Also even if I eat healthy meals I feel like my metabolism is stupid low. Obesity runs deep in both sides of my family and I think my main issue is portion control. Although my meals mainly consist of grilled chicken, fish, lean meats, and a wide range of vegetables I think my issue is portion sizes. If I don’t eat enough I get hungry at night and literally wake up. I’m cursed with insomnia and being a light sleeper. If I don’t go eat something I can’t sleep. Over time I gained about 20lbs. A year ago my pcp prescribed me with semaglutide and I got back to my goal weight. However, once he took me off, I slowly started having the same issue. I find myself having to eat more and I’m slowly creeping back to being over my goal weight. Right now I’m like 15lbs over. I know it might not seem like a lot but I need just a boost again to help me get back on track. I do concede that maybe I am paranoid of going back to my pre-surgery weight. I was 150lbs overweight. My quality of life was awful back then and I am terrified of falling back into that pit. My pcp refused to give me a prescription because he says weight fluctuates, but I know my body. Anyway, since my pcp said no, I feel that finding other alternatives is the best way to go. I am beyond grateful that I was able to find this group. Earlier today I placed an order with one of the US based providers mentioned in this forum and I can’t wait to see how it works out. Thank you!
