I'm on week six of tirzapetide. So far, I've lost about 10 pounds of the 60 which is my goal. I flew through my first two weeks with no side effects, but since then I've had trouble with my stomach and associated headaches. It's a little discouraging but it took me 3 months to lose 10 pounds a few years ago, so I'm trying to remind myself the discomfort is worth it. Some days are easier than others.

I guess I'm here to learn what others are doing to manage the side-effects and also to prepare myself for what comes in the future, when I've lost all the weight I need to lose.

Welcome!

For some stomach issues with GLPs, eating the same food when I have a cold helps.

Welcome- just remember, it takes 4 weeks before your body reaches max strength, so that’s likely why you’re starting sides now. What dose did you start at? How fast have you titrated up? The faster you increase your dose the more sides.. or so I hear. I had stomach pain and severe fatigue. A friend of mine ate crackers for nausea.. I was a ginger ale devotee. It also seems to pass, eventually. I hope your sides do too

10 lbs in 6 weeks is solid progress. The stomach issues can be rough, try adjusting timing and watching meals closely. Hope it gets easier soon!

I would make sure I am eating enough fiber, for the stomach, and drinking enough water, for the headache.

I noticed those 2 things need special attention as I was acclimating to Tirz

I haven’t experienced much nausea but did have a lot of the bloating and sulfur burps. And for that reason, I started on 2mg and wanted to stay on that as long as possible until I felt it was not working as strongly. I’ve only upped by .5mg in the last 3 weeks and have been feeling the effects again without much stomach upset! I was also taking charcoal capsules and drinking a mint medley or ginger tea the days my stomach is feeling a bit off and those seemed to help.

Definitely feeling hesitant to up my dose unless it feels absolutely ineffective on my current one due to horrible experiences in the past
