Hi. I've really struggled with this introduction. I've been on some sort of diet since I was 8 years old. You name it, I have tried it. And after each attempt, when I regained the weight, my set point would be a little higher. I'm 51, 5'2" and fortunate not to have any health issues. Last year, at my physical, my PCP told me I needed to lose weight before I developed "issues." He was no actual help and finally, this March he directed me to the Lilly website and suggested a telehealth provider. I did not go that route, but I did start a glp1 the first week of April. For the first time in my life, I am not obsessed with food. So far, I have lost an average of 1.6 pounds per week. I found the forum while reading about others' experiences on reddit.

Welcome, we're glad to have you!

Your story is all too familiar to a lot (if not most) of us, so you're certainly not alone! These meds are really almost miraculous in a lot of ways, and for those of us who have fought this battle our entire lives, all the while being told that we were just weak and making bad decisions, it turns out that giving a hormone or two in our systems a swift kick in the ass with a needle really is like turning on a switch for things to start working the way the manufacturer intended.

So happy for your early success, keep up the good work and hopefully our little hangout will help you keep doing well along the way!
