Hi! I'm super enthused to have found ya'll!!

61 y.o., father of 2 boys, Ex-drinker, ex-smoker, wondering why I couldn't relocate my former healthy self even with super-nutritious diet and exercise....then a friend mentioned Tirzepatide and oh my god I have my self and my life back.

In fact, not only have I lost 22 lbs in the past 2-1/2 months but because of my current research endeavors I am undertaking I was also able to effortlessly quit smoking a half-pack of cigarettes a day after ten years and virtually all ADHD symptoms are alleviated. It really is something and I am incredibly grateful for another go at living.

Anyway, I am tickled to have found a community of apparently similar folks.

See you in the forums!

Well done Zyd. Huge accomplishment as a 61 y/o dad of 2 and former smoker. I am thinking of starting Tirz myself soon. Out of curiosity, did you ever experience any insomnia from it? And did you happen to notice any changes in your resting heart rate while on it?

Hi Onenil!

In fact, I have had terrible insomnia for more than a decade. 5 hours sleep a night at most and usually four and not being able to get to sleep until 1 or 2 in the morning. Now I am easily going to bed by 9:30 and getting a full 7 hours totally refreshed and going to the gym 5 of 7 mornings at 5AM. For real. So - in fact - Tirz has been in some part responsible for helping me remedy my insomnia also. Balancing my blood sugar is truly a flippin' miracle.

I started taking daily BP, glucose, pulse, and SpO2 levels also out of curiosity to see what changes, if any, I would notice. My resting (and fasted) heart rate this morning was 118/69 w/ pulse of 61. July 1 (when I started recording it) it was 128/75 and pulse of 67. I do notice (looking at my daily records since then) that it def appears to be trending lower. Definitely not higher.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on all your progress! Quitting smoking and losing weight is generally an oxymoron so kudos!
Thanks!! Yeah - I absolutely did not expect the smoking bit at all and have tried numerous times in the past and I swear that it just occurred to me that "Nope. I don't want anymore" and that was that. Totally weird and incredible.

Hell yea man, thats what I'm talking about. I hope tirz yields me similar success. Your labs look insane too! You ever considered getting on a low dose statin as well to improve your lipid panel even more?

I was on retatrutide for a few months and successfully lost ~10-12 lbs (didn't have a ton of fat to lose to begin with at 5'10" 182 lbs, ~15% BF. I ultimately got down to near 170lbs with probably 12%BF. But, by the end my RHR had really popped, was up 10-15 beats per minute and I couldn't sleep! so I had to stop. I've come to understand that those effects are likely secondary to the glucagon agonism component of the Reta. So, I am hoping that in switching to Tirz I am better off from a sleep/RHR perspective. fingers crossed!
