How to Install Mobile App

The Xenforo software doesn't have conventional standalone apps that you will find the the Apple or Google app stores, but it does have a browser-based "progressive web app" that creates a special smart shortcut to the mobile version of our site on your home screen along with the ability to enable push notifications.

All you have to do is open the site on your mobile browser, click on the "hamburger" menu button on the upper left of the screen, and at the bottom of the menu you'll find the "Install the app" entry on the bottom of the forum list or menu. Just click the "Install" button:

Then follow the instructions to share the app shortcut to your home screen.

On iOS after installation and sign-in there will be a little message at the bottom of the screen asking if you want to enable push notifications.

try a other browser like chrome or firefox. Maybe the Forum Software doesn't detect your browser correct

I'm using Firefox on a 2 year old Motorola phone running Android 12, it's the only browser I use, ever, for everything. I'll just skip the app if I have to use Chrome.. Solid pass on the tracking browsers!

Maybe it's my anti-trust browser settings, lol

I haven't used an Android phone in years so I can't help but yeah I suspect it has something to do with the built-in functionality of Safari & Chrome.

you can try it also with Firefox or Brave (its a privacy browser with built in AdBlocker based on chromium).

Lol, my buddy was trying to talk me into Linux, but I don't use it enough to warrant learning a new OS. And I really don't have anything to hide. It's more out of principal. FTP

He's a seasoned cyber security pro and made some adjustments for me. Im not 100% hidden, but it's better than being wide open. I have an associates in IT Systems Specialist, but that's barely a taste. I did some help desk work at the college on VM's running Windows. Had one class that touched on Linux. These tech schools.. it's amazing anyone can get a job with the tiny bit of info they teach... It's like a 4 week intro to 50 different aspects that you could learn in 2 weeks on your own from home, lol. But I am disabled and still had Pell grant left. Coupled with scholarships, I banked $12k in 2 years on top of not paying a penny for tuition/books. Was more of a way to keep myself busy and learn a bit. At least I was able to build myself a nice gaming PC before the chip shortage hit. I was considering crypto mining when that hit. GPU prices quadrupled (or more). Wish I had bought a case of GPU's with that 12k and started mining in 2019, or better yet, had bought $1000 Bitcoin when it was 50 cents, or even put that 12k in when it dropped to 20k about a year ago... I spend a lot of time kicking myself in the ass, lol Hindsight

I was having the same issue, also using chrome. I didn't see it until I scrolled to the bottom and hit the link to enable push notifications. Once I hit that the link to download the app was at the very bottom of the menu

Hmmm, seems my device might not be compatible. Might need to update to Android 13... Been putting it off.
