Walgreens filled my old dosage of 10mg instead of my current dosage of 12.5mg.
I tried returning it but since the boxes were in a sealed Walgreens bag I didn't notice till I got home.

So now I have 3 boxes of 4 pens of 10mg of Mounjaro and don't know what to do with them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

What does one statement have to do with the other? Return them.

What dosage is on the documentation that came with the boxes? What dosage is on the Rx that your doctor submitted (presumably electronically)?

To clarify I used to be on the 10mg dosage then my doctor recently changed the dosage to 12mg.
Walgreens pharmacy app sends emails to you when your prescriptions are due for refill. When I got the email it sent me a reminder to fill my 10mg because I had 1 more refill of 10mg left.
So I selected to fill the refill not paying attention to the fact that my 12mg didn’t have anymore refills and had to contact my doctor for a refill.
So Walgreens system isn’t smart enough to stop sending reminders to fill refills if you have a higher dosage of the same medication on File.

So when I got notified that the prescription was ready for pick up I failed to read the prescription dosage email and also failed to ask the pharmacy what dosage I was picking up. Walgreens has a rule that no master if you pick up the medication and leave the store they don’t take the medication back if you accept and leave the store.

There are videos on youtube showing how to disassemble the pens and move them to vials, and you could then use an insulin syringe to measure out your 12.5mg dosage.

You'd still run out a little early, but at that point perhaps your doctor can get you the 12.5mg refill ahead of schedule.

I'd discuss this with your doctor. Perhaps he can send an Rx to a compounding pharmacy (I think they can still legally fill tirzepatide until the judge rules on injunction, but don't delay) for the 2mg weekly topoff. I bought my tirz 3-month supply from Southend Pharmacy, with a prescription submitted by telehealth provider Brellohealth

You'll have to draw the liquid from a vial into a syringe, but they give good directions and it's pretty easy if you pay careful attention.

or just do 5 day intervals.

you don't have to make a science project out of this. breaking open the pens will most probably result in the loss of product or ruination due to glass breakage etc.

Actually, if you follow the directions, the pens are easy to safely disassemble and then manually inject into an empty vial. Takes about 2 minutes.

I was playing with one after I emptied it and the spring in the pen is super powerful. It will shoot the integrated syringe (or the plunger) like 30' across the room.

my instructions say do not attempt to disassemble if i remember correctly. and i thought i read on here people trying to do it wasted the product.

If you accidentally set off the plunger it'll waste it, but the videos explain how to avoid it. Not hard to do.

12/7 = 1.71mg
1.71 x 6 = 10.26 (dose every 6 days)

10.26 is closer to the 10 in your pen than a draw on any reconstituted vial you'll get from a vendor with their over/under fills. One of mine just tested nearly 30% overfill!

With 6 day dosing you're only 4 days shy at the end of the box. Definitely in a refill window.
