I was curious about swimming in the pool/lake and did a little digging. Not only are these recommendations for swimming interesting, even hot showers or exercise is something to think about. Here is what I found:

Generally, it's recommended to wait at least 24 hours after a subcutaneous injection before swimming. Some sources suggest waiting two days, especially for hot tubs or whirlpools. It's also wise to avoid strenuous activities that could impact the injection site or medication absorption, such as exercising.

Elaboration:
  • 24-Hour Wait:
A standard recommendation is to wait 24 hours after a subcutaneous injection before engaging in activities like swimming or soaking in a bath, hot tub, or pool.

  • Hot Baths and Showers:
While a shower is generally okay after a few hours, hot baths or showers may accelerate medication absorption, especially for rapid-acting insulin. It's recommended to wait 90 minutes after a rapid-acting insulin injection before having a hot bath or shower.

  • Strenuous Activities:
Activities like exercising can also affect medication absorption, so it's best to avoid strenuous activities that might impact the injection site or medication absorption.

I'd say now that I've got that beach bod it's time to pin through October for that Halloween bod! (zombie or skeleton).

But the content here defies the title... So Mom's tell your kids to stay out of the pool after jabbing their GLPs!

Actually, rather than look at this as advice, I would love to open up a thought project.
I was curious, this is what I googled, I would be grateful for your feedback on this subject I am just trying to figure out.

Please feel free to contribute- all

Well ultimately everyone succeeding in achieving their best version of a "beach bod" will also land on a sustainable maintenance routine. Hopefully they can enjoy their time on the beach without being too self conscious and filled with food noise wondering where the nearest ice cream funnel cake pizza slice is.

They can be like all the people on the beach who've never had to take a GLP or were happy in their own skin regardless of size. "Beach Bod" is a visual without regard for internal health. I would hope that all of us taking GLPs and what we've learned in the process would make us the least critical of other's size/appearance on the beach. 🏖️

My friend,
I did not mean to debate this point- I am simple, I just thought: I wonder if swimming is safe and googled it.

You are preaching to the choir on the miracle this did for me, and others. That is what keeps me coming back after hitting goal. I have been in the impossible position that kept me hostage for so many years and now I am different. I could not do this on my own, but helped the best I could.

But... Is that post full of shit? Or can I swim without waiting 30 minutes after I eat?

I've been pinning stuff daily for almost a year. I spend a lot of time in the water of all types and temps.

I fear I'll still be "held hostage" even when I do reach my goals.. my batwings will be sails at the beach but whatever 🤷‍♀️.. 🤣

On the swimming/showers/hot tub.... thanks... now I have a new something to add to my fears.. lol..

That post is full of shit.. how do i know... because I am now afraid of it..

I'm not debating at all 😁 You said:

I'm in the choir and I'm just singing.

I'd swim... It's not gonna leak out.

Dude, this looks a bit like chatgpt responses. AI rocks for many things, but tge data is only as good as what it is fed. I am not sure of the veracity of this info, as 90% (statistic i just made up) of us here pin and gym, or pins and swim, or just basically pin and shower within the 24 hour period (i would hope).

I am guilty of all 3, as I pin something daily. I have not felt a reduction in effect or outcome. Definitely not as much as if I went of the wagon with food or booze for a night. Those activities are much more detrimental than a twenty minute shower... 22 minutes if that damned pt141 is still in the system 😈...

I know what you're asking, and I agree with @Peloma that sometimes chatGPT can be a little "school-marmy" and defaults to the path of least harm

I feel like I've been overly chatty today on the forum (too much coffee) but here's my take:

1. I don't sit in hot tubs because I feel like I'm stewing in other people's juices, so N/A

2. I feel there would be a natural lag time between when you pin and getting to a swimming pool, unless you're jumping into your own, and it seems like a safe endeavor. How many of us are going balls-to-the-wall when we hop in a pool? At our ages?

3. I have gone hiking my dog (the big idiot) in the hills after my injection and felt like "let's get this baby flowing through my system" which apparently is the opposite of what this says to do 😄

I also liked Slickdeals more when it was more new and exciting.

But if anyone wants more fiber:

or creatine or collagen powder.

Thank you all for the feedback, it is interesting to see the reactions.
I am not 100% certain having a dozen fresh holes in my body would not create a concern when jumping into a, questionably clean, body of water; and I still remain somewhat skeptical as to the safety. .
I did jump in the lake yesterday.

The other cool thing about this thread is to see, once again, the AI opinions. I am well aware AI is like reading every thread on a forum and trying to put them all together into something I might find "accurate". Much like this thread.

I do find AI very useful when combined with verification of source and proper prompting, and VERY useful in formatting something I already feel I have accurate data on.

PS. Dang pornhub is blocked in Texas..

Good times!

To be fair to Texas, there is a lot to be said for watching Christopher Cross on YouTube 😀

From someone called Calm Logic, I tend to believe you. However, this is what ChatGPT had to say about this. Thoughts?

which is better for anxiety? Selank Peptide or 1979 Christopher Cross song sailing

ChatGPT said:

That’s a fantastic question—and unexpectedly poetic!

Here’s a quick comparison:

Selank Peptide

  • What it is: A synthetic peptide developed in Russia, used for its anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and nootropic (cognitive-enhancing) effects.
  • Mechanism: Modulates GABA, dopamine, and serotonin—key neurotransmitters involved in anxiety.
  • Benefits: Clinically studied for reducing anxiety without sedating effects. Also enhances memory, focus, and emotional stability.
  • Delivery: Usually administered as a nasal spray.

“Sailing” by Christopher Cross (1979)

  • What it is: A smooth, calming soft rock classic that’s basically Xanax for your ears.
  • Mechanism: Activates nostalgia, emotional regulation, and the parasympathetic nervous system via auditory pathways.
  • Benefits: Instant mood uplift, zero side effects, and perfect for pairing with sunsets or daydreams.
  • Delivery: Available anywhere music plays, costs nothing but attention.

Verdict?

  • For real, clinical anxiety: Selank is better—it's backed by neurochemical modulation and medical research.
  • For mild stress or emotional overwhelm: The Christopher Cross method is magical, zero-intrusion, and comes with a soft ocean breeze (metaphorically speaking).
Best-case scenario? Use both: listen to “Sailing” while Selank does its neurochemical magic. Now that’s smooth sailing. ⛵💊🎶
