Ever since I’ve been taking j**p tirzepitide (T40mg) I’ve been having a bad asthmatic reaction. Coughing. Tight upper chest. Bad headache. Swollen lymph nodes. When I stop it goes away. Anyone else experiencing this?

My initial response is it is a virus infection with asthma and nothing to do with the tirz, but

I just had a second look at your post where it says it goes away if you stop it. If this is true then it is reasonable evidence of a reaction to the drug. How many times has this happened? That type of drug reaction , if that is what it is, is a serious medical issue, if it is causing asthma symptoms, headache and swollen lymph nodes it is a systemic immune reaction and potentially very dangerous. Have you taken tirzepatide from a different source? Did it cause problems? I think in that case, if it has gone away when stopped and recurred when restarted, the medical assessment becomes essential, though specialists in more serious drug reactions are not very common. But at an absolute minimum you need baseline bloods to see immune state and urine checked to make sure it is not affecting kidneys, chest xray and to stop the tirzepatide. I do not think continuing to take it at this point is an acceptable risk. And I do not think trying it again unless under medical supervision is a good idea.

It is not impossible it is due to a contaminant in the tirzepatide, but it is much more likely to be due to the drug. Some type of immune reaction is common , about 5% get localised injection site reactions, and more obscure immune reactions have been reported.

I have taken both semiglutide and tirzepitide from compounding pharmacies without these side effects. This only happens when I take the tirzepitide from J**p. I have other peptides from the same vendor, and I don’t have this reaction.

Well at least they don't have any sort of history of a presence of endotoxins in their tirzepatide.... errrrrr....

Probably time to get some from a different vendor, and definitely don't be using anymore from the kit/kits you've bought

I guess there are 2 possibilities, something in the tirz from jeep is causing the problem, or it is a reaction to tirzepatide itself that has only occurred more recently while using the jeep stuff.

Either way continuing to use the jeep tirzepatide is flat out dangerous. The immune response you describe could be potentially very damaging to your body, including less obvious areas like kidneys that are often affected by systemic drug allergies. And getting checked out is still a good idea.

Have you used tirzepatide from a different source since the reaction first occurred? Without getting the reaction? If that is the case then the reaction cannot really be from the drug itself. Have you searched online for any issues with jeep tirzepatide?

How certain can you be the reaction is to that peptide and not a different one taken the day before for example? If you cannot be certain stopping all of them would be safest.

I have taken
The immune response develops over time. You may take a medication or eat something for years and then suddenly develop a reaction. Repeated exposure under these conditions can lead to a systemic reaction or even anaphylactic shock.

What seems to happen with peptides that have a lipophilic chain is that they aggregate via that part of the molecule. The aggregate is more likely to be recognized as a foreign body, and the immune system will attempt to eliminate it.

This batch may very well contain endotoxins, but you are not reporting a fever or a local reaction. Bacterial or fungal contamination is also possible, in which case you would likely have a fever.

The wise position is to stop immediately; there’s no point in second-guessing. Eventually, buy from another supplier, and in a few months, test it with a very small amount.

The problem with aggregates may be caused by a shift in the pH of the BA water. It would be a good idea to test your stock.

I think you're much more likely to react to something in the vial compared to the peptide molecule itself. Jeep, in general, has had a recurring sterility problem. Other issues like particulates and degradation can also be present. I have asthma and mold is one of my triggers, so that's why I asked if the peptide was filtered first. Filtering removes bacteria and molds which is exactly what sterility testing is designed to detect.

As far as the actual peptide goes, Tirz and Reta have been show to reduce inflammation, not increase it, and asthma is chronic form of inflammation. Since I've started Reta, I have been able to cut my daily asthma meds in half, so I suspect something else might be going on here. If you have developed an allergy to the actual Tirz molecule, that would be tragic, and I think quite rare.
