Glad someone is speaking out. Thanks Joe!! Drug lobby only wants government interventions that will suit their pocket books. What do you do with all the peptides that are in literally every beauty product now? Seriously, go look at the serums and skin products at WALGREENS or CVS. Almost everyone of the skin serums has a peptide or 3 in them. Not to mention the food industry. Will you have to have an RX for collagen now? It’s a peptide! That’s just one food peptide. There are many peptides used in the food industry to help with the various flavors : VPP, IPP, GMP, Umami, casomorphin, soymorphin, gliadorphin……to name a few!!
The list for cosmetics is twice as long!!

As I’ve mentioned in other posts , big pharma wants to have congress fight their battles for them versus spending the money to sue in the courts (the way the rest of us have to do in order to protect our assets)! More people need to write their representatives and encourage their representatives to vote against these initiatives . Keep peptides listed the way they are and let people choose how they want to live their lives. Regulating compounds that are naturally produced in our bodies should not be something legislators should be a part of.

HGH and oxytocin are the only commonly used peptides I can think of that are naturally produced in our bodies. the rest have been modified in some way. there is in fact no ozempic in your gut unless you jab it in there, there is glp1 that isnt useful because its natural form has a half life of minutes. I don't think stuff that it out of patent protection should be regulated unless demonstrably dangerous, but stuff that companies invested in R&D for should remain protected (and imo subject to price controls) until patents lapse.
