So I'm up to 2mg reta every 4 days. been at this dose a couple weeks now and am getting good appetite suppression, fullness etc. however last week ive noticed ive been getting some mild sweets cravings mid afteroon. like, it's much better to have a nice cookie. then, im done. anyone getting similar?

Whatever dose I'm on, whether it be 1 or 12mg, I know I will always crave the sweet and tangy combination of chocolate, biscuit, and orange that is the Jaffa cake. I've just been able to eat 1 or 2 rather than a whole box over the course of one night. Bad things aren't so bad when they're had in moderation!

What I've noticed is that on Reta I finally have the "normal" sugar cravings - they happen quite rarely, they feel different as in very specific about my body telling me it needs sugar, and I can easily satisfy the cravings with a simple small fat-free yogurt with a tablespoon of honey in it.

This is just one of the ways Reta showed me what my body was actually supposed to feel like when it comes to food.

I have a mad sweet tooth. Today I made the conscientious choice to have a day without a bag of party mix lollies. Walk into the supermarket and right at the entrance, my favorite brand on special for $2. Ah well, there's always tomorrow 😆.

Even before Reta I did an intermittent fasting schedule where I would eat two meals a day plus a protein snack (e.g., cottage cheese with berries, chia seeds, carrots and hummus, Greek yogurt smoothie, apple and nut butter). I had changed up and dialed in my diet to Mediterranean style in 2021 when I had labs showing high cholesterol. Even then I would have phases where I craved sweets after dinner.

Now that I am on Reta, i have had some sweet cravings in afternoon so I switched my afternoon snack to apple and chocolate protein bar. I am trying to figure this out now that appetite is lessening on Reta. I don’t think I have the meal timing or snack content/choice figured out yet. I am still learning about food/macros/calorie intake on Reta to be sure I fuel my body so I am not fatigued or light headed as I gave orthostatic hypotension.

Thanks for all the replies. A little odd for me though as I didnt really have sugar cravings before reta, I mean, occasionally, sure, but seems worse since after starting reta.

Made big mistake yesterday, getting left in parked auto with 2 buckets of milk chockalot, with sea salt, caramel mouth full size treats. Cut my self off after half a bucket. Used to have gone for whole bucket and started on 2nd. I'm on half my Tirz, while I work thru some possible undesirable side effects, so I forgive me.
