For any fellow migraine sufferers, what has your experience been with Tirz?

WFH has helped reduce the frequency of migraines by a lot. I started Tirz in late June and I've seen a noticeable increase in the frequency of migraines. I was down to one a month, but I've had three in the last ten days. It's possible the two aren't related as there has been some increased stress at work. It's also possible it's due to struggling with dehydration even though I'm drinking a lot more water than usual.

Have you seen any change in your migraines?

My sister is on her 3rd week of Tz and has not mentioned increased migraine frequency and I'm scared to death to ask her about it because guarantee it will be an issue then. 🤪

I will post here if she does happen to mention it though.

Hopefully it's just a temporary issue for you!

I’d say possibly. It certainly hasn’t made them any worse! Started back in June and within the last 30 days or so I’ve only really had two days of migraines which I attribute to my cycle. Prior, I was getting migraines several times a month. I did get to use one months worth of Emgality and honesty I think that cut them waaaay down for at least 45 days. I can’t afford that medication though, so I’m just using abortives. If I continue at only a few days a month I think I could attribute a lot to the Tirz. The other variable is I’ve started taking DHEA to try to get my hormones to kick in. It may be helping as well.

I have more migraines when on TZ, they do happen more often but not when I was on a compounded (+B12). For some reason, I had more energy and less headaches on compounded but that’s maybe because it was either a bit under-dosed or because of vitamin B12 addition. I drink more water and I take B12 supplements to help a bit. I am also thinking of lowering my dose and see if that helps.

I have fewer headaches and in conjunction with Botox from my neurologist Im doing better than before.

I have a headache for two days post injection. It has happened consistently. I wonder if it is from low blood sugar because I wake up with a headache and it pretty much lasts for a full two days. I have never had elevated blood sugars usually runs below 100 even when I am not fasting.

Headaches during weight loss are often the result of dehydration.

I don't think I am dehydrated. I am on 5 mg of tirz and 2.5 months in and have lost a total of 4 pounds. Having a headache, fatigue, and heartburn is all the side effects I have had. I don't have a bunch to lose so I am not giving up on the injection but I am definitely going up on the dose in two weeks.

Prior to starting tirz, a constant state of slight dehydration was pretty normal for me but never really caused any issues. Once I started though it became clear that much more hydration was required. I also keep Pedialyte in the fridge just in case as well.

I have to agree with Gonk. If I dont get 60-80 ounces of water a day Im "dehydrated" and not feeling up to par.

I have suffered from debilitating migraines my entire life.
Not much has helped as far as RX meds. I get regular chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture to help prevent them.
I was down to about once a month. Then I started Tirz...boy oh boy...every day...not where I lose eyesight ( happens with bad migraines) but it sits behind an eye and in my shoulders and neck..
I asked my specialist ( she knows I take Tirz) and she explained that it's the hormones that are stashed in the fat cells. When they deflate they flood your system with those hormones and toxins.
So I have no proof of this...just what my doc said..maybe will be food for thought?

I have a nagging headache even when I wake up in the middle of the night for a day or two post injection.
Same. And my migraine meds--Rizatriptan--don't help with these headaches. But they also aren't nearly as debilitating as my usual brand of migraine would be.
