I have been on triz a year and have managed to lose all the weight I wanted. I worked out throughout but still lost some muscle mass and didnt have much to begin with due to years of failed diets.
I got all my pens through prescription in uk before the price rises and am down to my last couple but my plan is to go through a few bulk and cut phases to try and build up decent muscle mass and cut the fat I still have before I try to come off.
Im looking at moving to reta for a couple of reasons, first off I find eating enough food a struggle on triz in order to bulk even when dropping down doses and ive read that reta is not as strong in this regard.
Also that reta is better at maintaing muscle when cutting and better at burning fat due to the glucagon element.
What are ppls opinion on this idea and has anyone done this successfully?

I moved from 10mg Triz over to Reta. Started at 1mg titrating up to 5mg Reta.

I would say that the food suppression wasn't as strong. But when getting to about 4 or 5 mg of reta then it was more noticeable.

If anything i am starting to look more defined and seem to be losing fat while maintaining a lot more muscle.

Yeah thay sounds like what im looking for really. Less food supression so I can eat well but keeping the fat buring.

Hey,

First off, huge congrats on your progress so far—that’s really impressive, especially considering the challenges with past diets. Losing weight while keeping muscle isn’t easy

I’ve been on Reta for 7–8 months, and before that I was on MJ. I’ve kept up with strength training and cardio the whole time, but with Reta, it feels like I’m holding onto more muscle, which is great for my body recomposition goal.

One of the biggest differences I’ve noticed is with eating: with MJ, I could barely get enough food in because the appetite suppression was so strong. With Reta, you can actually eat enough to support bulking or muscle maintenance, while still feeling full and satisfied, which makes it easier to manage portions and stay on track.

Another key difference is the glucagon component of Reta, which helps to increase metabolic rate and fat burning even as appetite is controlled. This can help reduce the proportion of muscle lost relative to total weight loss when paired with adequate protein intake and strength training.

Some people also add a bit of cagrilintide, an amylin analog, for extra appetite control. It slows gastric emptying and enhances satiety, complementing Reta’s effects. But others can feel the effect of appetite suppression of Reta when they titrate up.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah thats the problem I seem to have with triz its been great for losing the main weight but now I kinda feel skinny fat and the appetite supression is just too much even on a much lower dose, getting the typical comments that u look ill because im skinny but still plenty of pockets of fat id like to lose still.
Eventually id like to come off it completely but I feel the best thing I can do is to put on muscle and lose the fat so that my tdee will be higher once im off it.
Keep seeing stuff about reta being good for maining the muscle while on cuts so what you have said confirms thats probably the way I should go.
Thanks

Body recomposition would probably be a really good move for you at this stage. It does test your patience but look into it. It’ll help with losing fat while building muscle at the same time. That usually means eating around maintenance calories or a very small deficit, keeping protein high, and making progressive strength training the priority. Fat loss is slower, but you start to look healthier, fuller, and tighter instead of just smaller.

Good luck.

Since being on retatrutide I juat e

Exactly same reason I did it. Im down nearly 7 stone now and using the reta to almost body recomposition now. I have always strength trained so hitting it hard for the past year. Its really starting to show!

I had this same idea, ive been on tirz for a couple months now and its going great, but once i hit close to my target weight im going to switch to reta for the same reasons. i can barely eat on tirz, and im only at the 2.5mg dose. So im hopeing this will be the solution.

Congrats on the weight loss, have loved the supression while losing but as you saw once down at lower weight you want to start eating better again to build the muscle and this is where triz seems to fall short.
Did you just switch straight only one week or did you taper off the triz while increasing the reta ?
Have seen ppl doing it both ways and had kinda thought id just switch over one week as ive always tolerated it well.

The funny thing is I got all the way to 15mg and on the way up didnt find the lower doses very strong and was eating pretty well, healthy home cooked meals etc but now ive lost the weight even the lower doses are just killing my desire to eat anything decent.
Id happily live off protien shakes etc right now.
Im hoping reta for a while will let me get used to eating healthy meals etc again while I exercise and recomp.

I went from 10mg Triz to 1mg reta straight swap. As you have used GLPs you will tolerate it well. When i did the swap i had 0 side effects. Then I titrated up to 5mg Reta over 2 months. Found 5mg is probably too much in terms of appetite suppression. Likely to go down to 3.5/4mg which is the sweet spot for me.

I can't compare Reta to Tirz because I never used Tirz but used Sema and sema/ cagri. I'm at goal weight now and struggling to find a maintenance dose with Reta. The appetite suppression is crazy for me and I'm still struggling to eat enough! If you need anti-inflammatory effects realize that Reta isn't as good for that. On Sema I could cut down my asthma meds and my allergies were practically non- existent- not been the case after switching to Reta.

I had a high RHR increase on Sema but hardly anything on Reta- my RHR has been between 58 and 60 on Reta and was 69-72 on Sema! My normal without is 55-58.

My blood sugar is low on Reta ( in the 60's when not fasting.) My Creatinine is now 45- was normal before starting so guess I've lost muscle or my kidneys have become super efficient!

All that to say, it's going to be person dependent! I love Reta for weight loss but not sure if it's the right maintenance drug for me and am actually considering switching to Tirz! It might work well for some but not for others as maintenance. Just be aware of that.

Yeah massively dependent person to person. Triz was just too suppressive for myself. Reta let's me eat albeit not massively lol

Im lucky enough to not have any other issues so moving iver shouldn't effect that.
I guess will just have to give it a try and see how it goes. Always have the option of moving back if I dont get on with it
I loved triz up to this stage so hopefully that will work for you.
