I wanted to try mt2 specifically to see the tanning and libido effects. I took two doses on back to back days of 250mcg and as I kept researching I decided to stop and hold off until I had time to do a tanning bed or lay put in the sun afterwards for a few sessions because I read it can cause uneven/dirty/blotchy tanning if you don't get even sun exposure initially.
I noticed within a few days of those two doses that my freckles had darkened like it was mid summer. No big deal as I always tan dark and always have face freckles by summers end. I have a 2/3 skin type. I might slightly burn with the first heavy sun exposure of the year and then I tan like I'm Mexican.

I've been very surprised to find that my skin is STILL noticably darkening even 2 weeks after taking it. I did not expect it to be so effective or still continue to tan me when I've had almost zero sun exposure in the last 2 weeks. It's been stormy day after day and I've been doing my farm chores late at night anyways.

Now I'm hesitant to use it at all because I really don't want to look like a brownish orange bimbo.

Is this typical for those that have dabbled in mt2?

Ahh yes, melanotan, the only skin tanning aid whose primary side effects are raging erections in males 😁

I haven’t used it personally but I’ve heard a lot of stories from people who have, they quickly get dark, freckles or become very tan quickly.

I’ve heard people try to work around it by Microdosing or taking it less regularly.

To be honest, though most people I’ve heard of using it end up stopping

I'm a gal so no erection issues here thankfully lol

I've just been so surprised that I'm still going darker from 2 doses and no sunlight.

My personal experience with certain peptides, especially the ones that haven’t hit multiple medical trials is that it’s not uncommon. They behave very differently in different people.

If you happen to get very dark from whatever dose you took cut that dose in a quarter and try it again at the same dosing cadence

Maybe just wait a week or two to see if you stopped getting tan first

Be careful. I have read horror stories about this... And if you're married, your tanning might allow you to get your husband more henpecked than usual.

I really don't feel the need to use more so glad I can just leave it behind.

If I decide to use any more at all I would definitely do as you suggest and halve or quarter the dose and see how that works. Either way it won't be for awhile if at all.

You might look into a more benign version -- Melanotan I -- MT1, (afamelanotide) .
It has been around longer than MT2.
MT1 has less side effects, and a more even tan, probably a better safety profile.
It was FDA-approved as a prescription drug to treat erythropoietic protoporphyria , a painful skin photosensitivity condition. It tans well.

Yeah I think that might be the better option going forward.

I've been using MT-1 for a few weeks now and really like it. Just slightly and gradually increases tanning. I have not seen any new or darkening moles or freckles. No odd side effects, just a little flush about 30min after dose.

I took it a few times around 4 years ago and to this day i still tan extremely easy. 10min out in the sun and I get noticeably darker and I dont burn after longer periods of time. It was never like this before taking it. Im not overly tan or anything but I dont spend much time outside either

Wow. The idea that it has that lasting of an effect is wild.

I'll second the lasting tanning effects. Once a quarter seems to work just fine. No random side effects, but luckily viewing a good set of tan lines still works.😎

Same here on the lasting tanning effects. When I was taking it, I stuck with a really low dose (50-100mcg) once per week. But I haven't taken it for months and I still tan quickly. I also don't burn anymore, even if I'm in the sun for a couple of hours. (I'm an auburn redhead -- or was, before it all went white -- with lots of freckles. I burned in 15 minutes before.)

I can only take 50mcg, anything more makes me way to nauseous. I am surprised you were able to take 250mcg at ince

Love mt 1 and mt 2 over a year and still tanned
leg tan.webp

You have great color still! Did you find you tanned evenly from the start, or did you lay out to get a much sun all over at first?
I started with mt 1 and about 10 minutes of sun each day for about 2 weeks. Then after 4 months of Maintenance doses I added mt 2 to get a complete body tan. I did 10 days of mt 2.
