Hi everyone, I’m currently on Mounjaro 2.5 mg and I’ve just taken my fifth dose.

I’ve been looking into TR20, meaning tirzepatide 20 mg, and wanted to ask whether anyone here has experience switching from Mounjaro to tirzepatide from a 20 mg vial while continuing with a similar 2.5 mg weekly dose.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially in terms of effectiveness, appetite control, side effects, dosing consistency, and whether the switch felt comparable overall.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Mounjaro is Trizepatide, so you would stick to 2.5mg, 2ml Bac Water, Draw 25 Units for 2.5mg, 1 Vial = 8 Injections

All you have to worry about is 1. Is the product you are buying is real (as in the correct peptide and correct strength) and 2. Is it clean (no endotoxins as seen recently on the banner) Other than that you're golden!

I switch from a .5mg dose of wegovy to buying grey market semaglutide in 10mg vials. So .. comparable experience.

#1 - There was no difference in the medication itself. I continued to have appetite control and continued to lose weight. It just cost me a heck of a lot less.

#2 - Since I use an injection pen with a cartridge taking the shot itself is no different either.

#3 - The big difference is that you are prepping the injection pen yourself and calculating your own doses. If the person doing this does their research and double checks the math I am sure that 99% of people will be ok on their doses. Following good hygiene protocols EVERY SINGLE TIME and I am sure that 99% of us will avoid any infections as well.

Thanks for the encouragement, my only problem is finding suitable reusable injection pens here in Austria/europe, with fitting vials.

I just purchased a couple of Lilly Humapen Savvio pens from PharmaGiant in Canada and the transaction was smooth and easy and they shipped internationally to the US. You might check to see if they ship to Europe. I also have some V2 pens and I actually think that are similar quality to the Savvio. Those are widely available.

And which empty vials do you put into the humaPen?

You wouldn't use a vial. Most if not all pens utilize a 3ml cartridge.

I'm using some KS-tek catridges that I purchased from their website in 2 Convipens and a Gensupen and haven't had any issues. Since you're putting the peptides in a cart, I encourage filtering as well since it's barely any additional work to filter!

@Eth62 this is all good advice. I would only add that when you source your cartridges, see if the vendor has sterilized them already or if you need to sterilize the cartridges. I purchase my cartridges from a supposedly reputable vendor who supposedly sterilizes the packages with steam. There is an indicator on the outer packaging that turns black when sterilized (supposedly). Although I've read that this can be "forged". I certainly don't own an auto-clave. There is only so much I can fit into my home research lab 😂🙃.

Lab supplies are cheap in the big picture of things, so my philosophy is to try my best to find high quality sources of these supplies. No sense filtering peptides into an unsterile cartridge, right?

Thanks, guys. All this information is really helpful. At the moment, I’ve only been able to find V1/V2 carts.

Could you let me know what type of filter you would recommend?

Thanks.

The carts are the same for the Humapen Savvio as the V1/V2. They don't take a special cartridge, just the normal 3mL pen carts. I think one of the Novo Nordisk pens uses proprietary parts, but I don't remember which one. Lilly's marketing material with the Savvio says you can only use it with their cartridges, but that's not true. My Tork paper hand towel dispenser paperwork said the same thing....that I can only use the dispenser with Tork products 😂.

I use a .22μm PES 13mm and try to find quality brandname supplies in this area too. No Temu filters for me.. Some well-known brands are Tisch, Biologix, etc. Just read online in the forum. The search bar is your friend....

Pretty sure that the cartridges are standardized. I have never seen them labeled as a certain type. Someone chime in if I'm wrong on that.

Same cartridges. Below is from Lilly..... I think they want to make people think that you can't use another cartridge only their 3mL insulin carts.

There goes EL trying to protect us from ourselves. 😂

You guys are the best, researching it I really assumed the offbrand cartridges don’t fit those brand pens. Thx
