My lotion recipe

I made this today, it turned out great! Thanks again for the recipe and idea 💕
OMG!!!!!! I've shared that recipe like a hundred times, sometimes with people I know in real life, sometimes with internet people. Literally nobody has ever made it themselves and told me about it; the people I love in real life have said "Oh, how interesting!" and then not made it and just continued to let me make it for them, which is fine cause I definitely love them. But this is a first and an exciting day for me!!!

Its actually based on this hair conditioner recipe from "Oh the Things We'll Make." I first made it years ago, and it was too heavy for me as a conditioner, but I found it was a WONDERFUL lotion, and I've tweaked it over the years (and eventually vastly upped the oil) but this is the one I started from.

Oh, and ps--if you have any plain emulsifying wax on hand, and (optional) any jeequat, I stopped using soap on my face at all about five months ago in favor of this oil based cleanser:

10g emulsifying wax
9g btms-25
1g jeequat
80g nice but inexpensive oil; avocado, apricot kernel, sweet almond, rice bran, or even jojoba (or any combination) are all fine

(If you have no jeequat, omit and add 1g of e-wax. If you only have btms-50, do 15g of e wax and 5 g of btms-50. No preservative is needed because there's no water in this.)

Combine all ingredients in a glass jar. Microwave for 20 secs at a time, stirring between, til the waxes melt and the whole thing is transparent, around 160 degrees. Add a few drops of rosemary essential oil, or rose, patchouli, lavender, chamomile, frankincense, tea tree if you like that, whatever your skin is usually good with. Stir well and allow to cool and harden into a carmex like consistency.

To use, undress, grab a quarter-sized amount, and massage well onto your face while dry. Hop in the shower, splash a little warm water onto your face, and rub thoroughly. The oils in the cleanser will dissolve the oils on your face when you rub it on/in, and the emulsifiers will turn it to a milky lotion which will rinse off. You can use a regular cleanser after, but I don't, I don't find I need to, and I'm just gonna put lotion on my face anyway after my shower.

Oh fun! I will give it a go!
