Is NAD really worth fighting the gelling? Im hearing different stories to stop it from gelling. I chickened out with my NAD purchase because I was afraid it would just gel up inside of me after injection. I haven't found time to play mad scientist.

I find NAD+ is one of the most beneficial peptides out there. It is one of those things that I didn’t realize was doing anything until I stopped taking it. I bought my first cycles from simplepeptide.com. It was $50 or $60 for 500mg and it was worth every penny. I don’t know of a single con related to NAD+.

My protocol was/is pretty conservative to some that I have seen. 100mg three times a week for a month, then 100mg maintenance dose every 30 days. I use 100mg vials now and reconstitute with McKesson sterile water then inject as soon as it dissolves. As always, I encourage everyone to do their own research to see what works best for them. 😁

I've done a ton of reading and thats what drew me to buying. How do you know what you're getting isn't going to gel?

I can’t really answer that. I had gelling with Amopure Tirz 10mg but never experienced it with NAD+. The last NAD+ I bought was from SRY. It took forever to arrive but it reconstitutes fine with the sterile water.

Wow.... sad! Sorry that happened

You can also purchase NMN or NR they are both precursors to NAD. I have used donotage.org.

Not Everthing needs to be injected, lol.
Thanks! I watched some videos on nmn... resveratrol. Gonna definitely check out.... thanks

I went cheap and ordered powdered NMN ( I was already doing IV’s of NAD every 8 weeks). The first time I put it in my mouth it was horrible however after 2 weeks I didn’t mind the taste at all. Don’t be afraid to save a buck and order the powdered version you will get used to the bitterness in a short while.

Great! Tossing in my morning smoothies would be great! I appreciate this.

Do you find it works? I had been looking into NAD because I was reading a lot of people take it alongside GLOW but I read a lot of mixed reviews on it so I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’m looking for something that can boost my energy so it’s still on my short list but I keep wobbling on it.

I've never experienced gelling with my NAD+ but I also don't refrigerate it. I just keep it in a cool dark place.

You will feel the most effects of NAD if you do a loading dose via IV. Where I work we recommend either 4 daily doses of 750 mg or 500 mg. I did 4x 500 mg. It’s not for the faint of heart. Initial dose of 500 mg in 500 ml took me 4 hours to get in. Chest pressure, aching limbs, stuffy nose it’s kinda wild. What I felt after my 4 th dose was kind of indescribable. Almost euphoria. Like my life was perfect, and I did it pre weight loss. My balance was better, my sleep was better, I overall just felt better.

I actually stopped doing maintenance IV doses 8 months into my Wegovy journey. The side effects from the IV doses became too much. Not only in discomfort but downright embarrassing at work. The side effects went straight to my gut. I ended up constantly in the bathroom.

When you do IM NAD the dose is 125 mg every 7 days. Less side effects. A temporary pressure in your chest is not unusual but dissipates over about 15-20 mins.

Oral NAD ie NMN I had zero side effects but you also notice less benefits because it takes much longer to build up in your system. I actually would not recommend NAD for anyone under 40 years old. We all have NAD in our bodies already but it starts to decrease in our 40’s. It’s great for us older folks to replace what we no longer make.

I currently don’t use any supplements. The early days of nausea on my Wegovy journey got me to stop my morning supplements. I previously took NMN, resveratrol, Berberine, Vitamin D, B complex and magnesium. I do take the vitamin D and magnesium citrate with my evening meds per doctor’s recommendation. My body doesn’t synthesize Vitamin D even though I spend plenty of time in the California sunshine.

I feel pretty great after losing 85 lbs so I’m not sure if I will restart the supplements even though I have 6 months of NR pills down in my fridge.

That is very interesting to read, do you suggest NR or NMN?
There have been multiple studies on both. NR tends to be less expensive and the jury’s still out whether one is better than the other. They both are precursors to NAD. NR is further back in the chain but some claim it’s better. Bottom line they are both recommended so I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Alls I know is it is getting popular with rich people who pay a lot of money for “NAD therapy” so I’m going to do it just so I can feel fancy

how hard would it be for someone to do their own IV.

I've done subq IVs for my cats a lot.
It’s not hard, but it is expensive. I had to learn how to give them when I was in the Army as a collateral duty. We ALWAYS gave ourselves fluids and Banana Bags after long missions. Now I think they use lactaid ringers.

I am a pro at starting IV’s and I know many nurses who start them on themselves. I now have a big juicy AC vein after losing 85 lbs. But nope I am not planning on trying to start my own.

Yeah I had looked into NAD IVs and even though I could afford them, I’d prefer to spend my money on other things if I can get NAD elsewhere haha. I’m not 40 yet but I’m going to continue to look into NAD I think (as well as MOTS-C and ate so). Just need something to battle the Hashi’s fatigue 😭

Former iv/picc nurse here and have done my share of hangover home IVs back in the day! Personally would not run anything other than isotonic solutions at home, tempting but nah, looking at subq nad+ protocols for my next adjunctive here.

All of the human NAD+ studies I've found used oral, so that's the direction I am leaning once it makes it to the top of the 'to try' list.
