Just found this forum and figured I'd jump in. I'm a 41-year-old electrician from Dallas, been dealing with T2D for about 12 years now. Got diagnosed when I was 29 after my dad had a heart attack, that was my wake-up call that I couldn't keep ignoring the warning signs. I'll be honest, I spent the first few years thinking I could tough it out without making real changes, and my A1C climbed all the way up to 10.2% before I got scared straight.

These days I'm on Metformin and Lantus, and got my numbers sitting around 7.3% most of the time. biggest challenge is managing everything with crazy work schedules and sometimes I'm pulling 12-hour days on job sites where stopping for a proper meal isn't always an option. I've learned to pack my own food and keep glucose tabs in my tool belt. My lovely wife handles most of the meal planning at home, but I can grill a mean chicken breast for meal prep when needed. Thanks!
